Fat Burning Workouts For Women

Fat Burning Workouts For Women
Can women do the same fat burning workouts as men? That is
one of the biggest questions I get.

And the answer will shock you.

I train a lot of men and women who do the same workouts -
and here's the shocker: Most of the time, the women get the
best results by using interval training and superset
strength training.

Why?

Because most women are doing such ineffective workouts
right now, that they are getting no results. They aren't
working hard at all, only long and slow. But when they
switch to intervals and resistance training, their bodies
get lean fast and they lose inches fast!

However, I also sometimes will change the program for women
in order — we might reduce the number of sets per
exercise or we use body weight exercises in place of
dumbbell exercises.

And the reasoning here is this. To "bulk up", bodybuilders
need to do a lot of volume (a lot of sets and reps) - and
they have to eat a lot, which obviously people aren't going
to be focusing on if they want to lose body fat.

Women who want to burn inches from their thigs are not
going to be pigging out. They're going to be eating what
they're supposed to.

But back to training. In my Turbulence Training programs we
don't have body builder type volume in the first place. So
most women, like I said, just train normally on Turbulence
Training and don't change it at all - and they lose fat and
do NOT bulk up.

However, I sometimes change the program only for a woman's
mindset purpose as opposed to an actual physical purpose.
Instead of doing three sets per exercise, we'll just do one
or maybe two sets per exercise. That way it just decreases
the amount of volume and reduces the chance of gaining
muscle. So that's the biggest change that I'll make for
women.

It really just eases their mind so they won't think they
are getting big and bulky.

On the other hand, another mindset change for women is if
we use a pushup in place of a dumbbell chest press women
are much more comfortable doing pushups because they don't
associate that with gaining mass.

We just make sure that the pushup is very challenging, so
decline pushups are probably one of the most challenging
pushups. So if a woman is using 30 or 35 pounds in
dumbbell chest presses, then sometimes they get a little
anxious about that so we'll just switch them over to
decline pushups.

These pushups are very difficult exercise, still getting
the same type of results, same benefits, but now they're
not worried about the so-called bulking up.

So, those are the changes I make and I'm not hesitant to
say I'm making them mostly to suit the mindset of the
person because I know we're not losing results.

And another thing to consider about volume of training is
that you don't have to do six different exercises for a
body part and four sets per exercise.

Strength training is a very efficient process. So even if
you only did one hard set of each exercise you're probably
going to get about 75% of the results if you did three sets.

So that's an important consideration for people that are
really pressed for time. So if you're a guy and you still
want to gain some muscle and lose body fat but you only
have 15 minutes to workout, well just do one set per
exercise, one really hard set per exercise rather than
three and you'll still get your entire workout done.

People just have to realize that if they only have 10 or 15
minutes they can still benefit their body and their fat
loss efforts just by training at a reduced volume.

Great Results with the South Beach Diet

Great Results with the South Beach Diet
When you put on too much weight it can dramatically reduce
the quality of your health and life in general. So when
weight gain happens to most people, they seek out diets to
get that weight down. And there are so many diets to choose
from. Some want money to buy their special menus and others
have requirements that cannot be consistently met. What is
their result? They fail—simple as that. If you have to go
to a specialty health food store to buy the proper food for
a diet you will find it to be very expensive and
unsustainable because it wrecks your budget. If you have to
cut out carbohydrates or things you like to eat from your
diet forever you will soon grow weary and go back to eating
them—another diet failed. But there is a diet that gives
you some balance and doctors recommend it quite often: The
South Beach Diet.

The South Beach Diet was designed by cardiologist Dr.
Arthur Agatston who set out to create a diet that was both
safe and effective. The diet is a solution to the problem
of insulin resistance in a person who eats a lot of foods
with what is called a high-glycemic index. Eating too much
bread, potatoes, candy, and foods with processed sugar can
create what is known as insulin resistance syndrome. This
syndrome interferes with insulin's ability to process fat
and sugars therefore the person puts on more weight.

So the starting point with this diet is a period of two
weeks when these high-glycemic foods are cut out of the
diet in an attempt to force the body to lose its insulin
resistance. This reduction in insulin resistance should
cause the body to start burning stored fat and the person
will start to experience significant weight loss in a short
time. This is phase one of the diet. The person in phase
one will eat three normal meals a day consisting of meat,
fish, cheese (low-fat), vegetables, and eggs. Snacks
between the noon and evening meals are required and can
consist of products like nuts or cheese sticks. It is
estimated that a person will lose between 8 and 12 pounds
during this phase.

This is probably the most difficult part of the diet as one
can go through periods of feeling weak and dizzy as their
body adjusts to the absence of carbohydrates. Also, because
the person has to do without many fruits and vegetables,
there may be some vitamin deficiencies. Plus, the absence
of bread in the diet can result in fiber deficiencies. So
you may have to take some vitamin and fiber supplements.

Phase two of the diet consists of introducing small amounts
of the forbidden foods (like bread) back into the diet.
Weight loss should continue during this phase and the goal
is to keep losing 1 to 2 pounds per week until the dieter
achieves the desired target weight.

Once the target weight is achieved, phase three or the
maintenance phase begins and the dieter needs to maintain a
balanced diet. Monitoring the weight is still important
because if it starts to climb again the dieter returns to
phase one.

What are Digital Hearing Aids?

What are Digital Hearing Aids?
If you're like millions of other people you really did not
fully understand what you bought when you purchased your
new digital hearing aids. The hearing professional told
you what you needed and you trusted them. I get asked all
the time to explain what makes a digital hearing aid
different.

Digital hearing aids use computer technology. The sound
and comfort level can be tailored to your specific hearing
loss. This is accomplished by connecting the digital
hearing aids to a computer and programming them to your
loss. But, there are non-digital / analog hearing aids
that can be programmed this way too. So, what are the
differences between digital hearing aids and analog?

Hearing aids receive sound through the microphone.
Distortion and noise are added to the sound from the
microphone. This is because microphones make noise. Analog
hearing aids pass the sound on to you with the noise and
distortion. Digital hearing aids take sound as it comes
into the hearing aids and clean it so that there is less
distortion and noise. The sound is then sent to the
amplifier, where your digital hearing aids measure the
sound and decide how much power to add in order for you to
hear.

After being amplified the sound is sent to the receiver (
the speaker ) and is then cleaned up again before being
sent to your ear. This is also where digital hearing aids
look for feedback ( whistling ) and work to cancel it
before the feedback happens. Digital hearing aids actually
perform millions of complex calculations in less than the
blink of an eye, so fast you cannot even tell it has
happened. The whole process is incredibly complicated.
Digital hearing aids are able to be set more precisely to
your hearing loss. Digital hearing aids also have a wide
array of circuitry inside them that control the comfort of
the sound and make speech easier to hear in noise.

Why Do Some People Have Difficulty Changing from Analog to
Digital Hearing Aids?

Many people that have worn hearing aids for some time have
been unsuccessful when they tried digital hearing aids. If
digital is so much better, why do these people not like
them? We are conditioned over time to like or dislike
things. Many people did not like some kind of food when
they were young, but later they learn to like it. We call
this developing a taste for it. The same is true with
switching from analog to digital hearing aids, especially
if you were happy with your analog hearing aids.

Your brain becomes accustomed to hearing sounds a certain
way, particularly if you felt positive about the way it
sounded with your analog hearing aid. When you first put
on your digital hearing aids the sound is much brighter.
This can be overpowering to some and the immediate reaction
is to not like it. That's when many people make one of two
mistakes. They try to tough it out and get used to their
digital hearing aids, or they just give up. The problem
with toughing it out is that it can actually become painful
to hear all that sound when your not used to it. Then your
new digital hearing aids becomes your enemy! Giving up
doesn't help anything either.

When this is the case, the best way for you to adapt to
your digital hearing aids is gradually. Your professional
can tone them down so that the sound is comfortable, and
then gradually introduce more sound over time as you
adjust. It may take several visits to the office for
adjustments until you get the maximum benefit from your
digital hearing aids. But if you persevere, your digital
hearing aids will reward you with much better hearing.

Title: Strength Training - Why Take the Time

Title: Strength Training - Why Take the Time
Research has shown the weight training, weight lifting and
or strength training, has enormous effects on the muscular
skeletal system, enhances the maintenance of functional
abilities, helps prevent osteoporosis, sarcopenia (loss of
body mass), low back pain, and other disabilities

Loss of strength is one of the characteristics of aging.
This is particularly problematic for those people whose
lifestyles don't demand use of the muscles. If you are an
office jockey or are otherwise sedentary, your muscles will
atrophy lowering your metabolic rate and negatively impact
your immune system. Strenght training is one of the most
effective ways to combat aging.

Strength training also contributes to muscle conditioning.
Conditioning muscles is essential to overall stability and
the strength of the body. A strong body provides many
benefits all through out life. Maintaining strong muscles
also aids in maintaining stronger, healthier bones, tendons
and connective tissues.

Your posture or the ways you sit and stand reflect the
health of the muscles and bones that keep you upright.
Strengthening those muscles and bones will enable to sit
and stand more comfortably.

Many people, particularly women, fear strength training
believing they will experience dramatic gains in muscle
size making them look more like men. This just is not so.
Men and women have different hormones that govern how
muscles respond to strength training. The male hormone
testosterone is key to building large muscles. Women simply
lack sufficient levels of testosterone to "bulk up".
Instead you'll gain longer more shapely muscles that can
also be much stronger.

Clinical studies have shown that strength training is a
keep ingredient in managing stress. A regular exercise
routine that incorporates strength training will result in
better deep sleep in addition to handling stress more
readily. The hormones released as result will also lift
your mood thus combating depression

Strength training like most forms of exercise raises the
metabolic rate thus burning more calories. It will aid in
maintaining the proper weight with less body fat. Be aware
though that as your routine progresses, you may not
actually lose weight, but you'll lose inches. Muscle is
denser thus heavier than fat but takes less space. Over
time you should notice decreases in waist measurements and
body fat measurement.

A little exercise is better than no exercise. Avoid feeling
that if you can't spend hours, then why bother. Every
journey starts with the first step. Be conscious of how you
carry grocery bags, babies or other objects. Make daily
chores into an impromptu workout.

Consult with your doctor if you want to make weight lifting
a daily part of your fitness regimen.

Why Not Join A Fitness Singles Online Dating Site

Why Not Join A Fitness Singles Online Dating Site
One of the many benefits of online dating is the ability to
quickly meet people that have similar interests as yours.
In the past you could waste a lot of time trying to find
someone who you could relate to. That is not the case
anymore thanks to the online dating services available to
you.

One target group that appeals to many people are fitness
singles. If you lead an active lifestyle and are looking
for someone to share your time with this may very well be a
group that you want to become involved with.

In the past to meet people, you often had to hang out in a
bar. Today with your busy career and lifestyle you may be
looking for someone who likes to unwind by getting out and
doing things other than drinking.

There are several dating services now that target people
looking for partners that are active. You can google search
for keywords such as fitness dating, fitness singles, or
even a very specific sport to find dating services that
will have the kind of people that you want to hang with.

This doesn't mean that you're even looking for someone to
spend the rest of your life with either. Fitness singles
groups are excellent, because the people that join them are
people who just want to be active with other people.
Whether you end up meeting a lifetime partner is irrelevant
at first.

We mentioned sports specific, and there is a point for
that. Depending on the amount of free time that you have
you may only have so many hours a month to do your favorite
activity. If you really enjoy playing softball there's no
point in you hanging with someone who likes to spend their
time doing aerobics.

Most fitness single dating websites offer a wide variety of
sports that you can associate with including square
dancing, surfing, golf, tennis, skiing, weight lifting,
jogging, and so on. This is a great way for you to narrow
down your list to find an active person who is similar to
you.

It is interesting that people who join fitness single clubs
are in varying degrees of health. This makes sense, because
some people are more active than others. This is a benefit
to you when looking at online dating service of fitness
singles as well.

You will be able to find someone to do things with that is
in similar condition to yourself. Keeping this in mind, you
do not have to be in tip top shape when you first join a
fitness singles club or dating site.

In summary, joining a fitness singles online dating service
is a great way to meet people that are similar to you and
find someone to spend your free time with.

Diabetes - Three Natural Ways to Prevent Control and Treat

Diabetes - Three Natural Ways to Prevent Control and Treat
Almost everyone knows someone with diabetes. From 1980
through 2004, less than one-quarter of a century, the total
number of Americans with diabetes more than doubled!
Estimates show that about six percent of the American
population or about 18.2 million Americans suffer from this
life-long illness. And about 6 million of those people
haven't been diagnosed yet.

The causes of diabetes are well known. Diabetes is a
condition that occurs when the body has lost its ability to
regulate the levels of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream.
This is usually due to some interruption in the production
of insulin. Insulin is the hormone in our body that lowers
blood sugar levels. Without the hormone in our body, our
blood sugar levels increase to dangerously high levels.
Since all the organs in our body rely on a steady supply of
glucose so they can function properly, any disruption blood
sugar levels can have dire consequences. Diabetes often
leads to blindness, heart and blood vessel disease, stroke,
kidney failure, amputations, and nerve damage.

There are two major types of diabetes - Type 1 which is
often called juvenile diabetes and Type 2 which is often
called adult diabetes or adult-onset diabetes. Although
diabetes can strike at any age, Type 1 diabetes usually
strikes children and young adults. In Type 1 diabetes,
cells in the pancreas called beta cells, these are the ones
that make insulin to control blood sugar levels in our
body, do not function. So in order to maintain or manage
blood sugar levels, people with Type 1 diabetes must inject
insulin or have it delivered by a small pump into their
body. In effect, they must supply the insulin that the
beta cells in their pancreas are not supplying. Type 1
diabetes accounts for about five to ten percent of all
diagnosed cases of diabetes.

Type 2 diabetes is more common than Type 1. Type 2
diabetes generally affects adults. Type 2 adult diabetes
usually begins as the body starts to resist the effects of
insulin - sometimes called insulin resistance. The body
just doesn't use the insulin it makes effectively or
efficiently. This inefficiency puts extra demands on the
pancreas where insulin is made by the beta cells. Over
time, the pancreas and beta cells can't keep up and
gradually begin to lose the ability to make insulin at all.

The American Diabetes Association estimates that nearly 6
million Americans are currently living with undiagnosed
diabetes. The effects of an adult with diabetes may first
appear as problems with their vision, nerves, kidney
failure, heart attack, or stroke. It isn't until these
life threatening conditions occur that they realize they
have been living with the chronic disease of diabetes.
The symptoms of an adult with diabetes and the symptoms of
a child with diabetes are recognizable: excessive thirst,
craving for sweet foods, passing urine frequently,
tiredness and weight loss. Although the onset of Adult
Type 2 diabetes is gradual, the onset of Juvenile Type 1
diabetes is usually very rapid and sometimes life
threatening when they first appear.

Why would anyone develop Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes? Can
diabetes be passed down? The answer is maybe. Genetics and
other family histories are being examined to determine
whether Type 1 or Type 2 are hereditary, but the cause of
Type 2 diabetes is more associated with lifestyle habits.
Type 2 diabetes is often seen in people who don't exercise,
are obese, have a poor diet, and lead stress-filled lives.

Diabetes is ranked as the sixth leading cause of death in
the United States but may be underestimated. The reason is
that more than 60 percent of those with diabetes often die
as a result of heart disease or stroke. And it is the
heart disease or stroke that is listed as the cause of
death. Because the causes of Type 2 diabetes are
associated with lifestyle habits, there may be a NATURAL
TREATMENT for Type 2 Adult Diabetes. There may be a
natural treatment for the CONTROL of diabetes.

Here are three natural lifestyle habits to prevent,
control, and treat diabetes.

1. Maintain a healthy weight. 90 percent of all people
diagnosed with diabetes are overweight. According to the
American Diabetes Association, even 5 to 10 percent
reduction in body weight can result in a tremendous
reduction in the risk or severity of diabetes. For most
people, that's only a loss of 10-20 pounds.

2. Exercise. Physical activity can lower your blood sugar
(glucose) and help insulin work better for your body. That
means your body is less susceptible to the development of
diabetes. If you're trying to lose weight as a natural way
to prevent, control, or treat your diabetes, a combination
of physical activity and wise food choice can help you
reach your target.

3. Nutrition. Eating habits contribute significantly to
the current increase in diabetes. Over the past 50 years,
people have been eating more and more carbohydrates and
sugar-filled foods. Eating a lot of carbohydrates each day
puts stress on the pancreas which must work harder to
maintain blood sugar levels. As the pancreas degrades, and
you continue to eat the carbohydrates, you make yourself
prone to Type 2 diabetes.

Maintaining a healthy weight, regular exercise, and proper
nutrition are important. They are three natural lifestyle
habits that you can do today to prevent, control and treat
diabetes. Eating healthy and getting the proper nutrition
means a balanced diet, drinking plenty of water and taking
a nutritional supplement. Taking a nutritional supplement
on a regular basis ensures you are getting all the vitamins
and minerals your body needs, including your pancreas, to
rebuild, regenerate, and operate at peak performance levels.

#1 Missing Factor in Weight Loss Programs

#1 Missing Factor in Weight Loss Programs
If you don't have social support, you won't lose fat.
Having social support is the biggest missing factor in most
weight loss programs, and that is why people fail.

It's that simple.

So here's what "social support" means, and how to get it.

Social support is probably one of the missing ingredients
that people don't realize how important that is to achieve.
Not only fitness goals, but really any goals in life. For
example, to achieve your business goals you have to have
support of other business minded people to help you.

If you want to stop drinking you've got to hang around
people that don't drink. In this day and age, our social
groups are a lot different now. There's a lot more
internet based, for better or for worse, but the positive
power of these internet based groups can be huge,
especially now as they get more specific.

Before there just used to be fitness forums. Now, there are
specific fat loss forums, and female only forums. There are
forums specific for moms that are trying to lose body fat.

So, we're able to get more specific now and that way you
don't have to go through a lot of various stuff to get to
the specific stuff. You just go right to the specific
stuff that's helping you with your specific problem. So
there's all sorts of good stuff out there on the internet
so hopefully people will be able to find it. But these
networking sites and forums and that type of stuff are
very, very helpful.

Social support means getting at least one person, and
preferably a lot more people, to encourage you, check up on
you, motivate you, keep you in line, and keep you on track.
You need to be accountable to these people. You need to
state your goals to these people.

By doing this, you will have a greater chance of success.
You can also workout with someone to get the maximum
benefits of social support.

According to research published in 2006, working out with
someone else who loses fat significantly increases your
chance of losing fat.

So stick with winners. Partner up with someone to get help
and get their success to rub off on you.

If you can't do that, then get a doctor, trainer,
nutritionist, or some professional on your support team.
Research shows that being accountable to an authoritative
figure also increases your chance for success.

And finally, although there isn't a research study to
support me, I know that hanging around the right people
will help you lose fat, while spending time with the wrong
people will stop you from reaching your goals.

For example, if you continue to hang around beer-drinking,
wing-eating friends 4 days of the week, expect to have a
beer drinker's body.

Now, I'm not saying you can't have one special night out
per week, but I am saying keep it to one night out, and
limit the beer and wing intake.

Sacrifices have to be made, but it is a lot easier to make
them when you have a social support team that is there
helping you choose the right foods and do the right
workouts.

How to lose weight (the basics!)

How to lose weight (the basics!)
There are plenty of reasons for losing weight. The main
reason for wanting to lose weight is to look good and to
feel better about your self image but there are obvious
health benefits in losing weight. You are less likely to
be at risk from diabetes and heart disease for starters.
Indeed, people already suffering from those conditions are
usually advised that they should lose weight in order to
improve their health.

However, it is a known fact that the first days and weeks
of any weight loss program is tough. This article will
look at a few important things you must do to start losing
weight. If you have ever tried to lose weight before or if
weight loss and weight control has been a big part of your
life then you probably already know most, if not all, I
have to say. If this is the case then I will forgive you
if you skip to the last few sentences to see if I have come
up with any magic weight loss answers!

The very first thing that you need to do is to stop seeking
out the latest fad diet. Diets do not work. And whatever
you do, forget about any diet backed by a celebrity. If
you were a celebrity and could afford your own personal
trainer and personal chef to help you lose weight you
would, wouldn't you!

Far too many people believe that diets are the quickest way
to lose weight. Unfortunately, nothing could be further
from the truth. At best, fad diets may help you lose
weight, but only for a short time. At worst, they can
cause a great amount of damage to your body by denying it
of essential vitamins and minerals. Studies have also
shown that most people who started fad diets almost always
gained back all the weight they had lost as soon as they
stopped it and, to make matters worse, put back on even
more weight than they had lost.

The second thing you should do is to get off that couch and
start moving. No matter how busy you are, you can always
find time for exercise. Before you do anything though, go
and see your doctor to make sure you are fit enough to
start doing some exercise. They may also refer you to a
dietician who will help you with your diet. If all is well
with your your doc you are ready to go. Exercise is great
when it comes to burning fat and weight loss.

Exercise doesn't always mean hitting the gym and spending
hours on the treadmills, stairmasters and bikes. Get some
comfortable shoes or trainers on and get out walking.
There's a whole world out there to take advantage of and it
doesn't cost a thing. Walk briskly though and briskly
enough to get a little out of breath. Increase your
general level of physical activity everyday. The more
active you become, the faster you will be able to lose
weight.

So, you've given up your fad diets and started exercising
but what else do you need to do to start losing weight?
Well, the key to losing weight is burning up more fat
through activity and exercise than you take in through food
and drink. So, if you are exercising more and you start
taking in less fat you will start losing weight. It's that
simple.

There are so many websites and articles on the net about
healthy eating if you read every word you would go blind.
They usually suggest eating more fruit and vegetables as
they are both nutritious as well as being low in calories
and fat. They usually suggest eating a balanced diet
consisting of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.

One thing you should do however, and something which is
suggested by most if not all of the main players in the
diet industry, is to write down what you eat. Most of us
don't really believe that the few biscuits and chips we had
between lunch and dinner actually count as food. So write
EVERYTHING down. No cheating. You will be surprised at
how much actually passes you lips every day.

As a final note I should point out at this point that there
are natural products on the market which allow fat to pass
through the body unabsorbed. These products, known as fat
binders, are an all natural remedy to weight loss and work
in the same way as their drug based counterparts which were
developed a few years ago. The most popular natural weight
loss pill on the market today is Proactol which stops
almost 30% of all dietary fat from being absorbed into the
body.

Losing weight is really not that hard. It is about as hard
as putting on weight. If you take in less fat and burn off
more fat through activity then you will lose weight. It is
that simple. Whether you choose to use natural weight loss
products such as Proactol to help you is up to you.

Top 4 Foods Guaranteed To Give You a Burst of Energy

Top 4 Foods Guaranteed To Give You a Burst of Energy
Oatmeal

Eating oatmeal can do wonders to your body. It's high in
fiber, low in fat, and low in calories. In addition,
consuming oatmeal helps prevent heart disease by lowering
your bad cholesterol (LDL) and increasing your good
cholesterol (HDL). Oatmeal's also great because it's a
meal in which you can customize and be as creative as you
want. You can top it off with fruit, nuts, or berries for
some added flavor and nutrients.

Yogurt

Throughout the years yogurt has been sky-rocketing in
popularity. This calcium-rich food keeps your bones
staying super strong and helps fight off any infections by
increasing your immune system.

Another added benefit is the live bacteria in yogurt.
These good bacteria help to keep your intestinal tract
functioning at its optimal level. Now you don't need to go
out and buy the yogurt with high fat or extra fat content.
You'll get the same benefits with the low-fat or non-fat
versions. Just like oatmeal you can also add fruits, nuts,
berries, or high fiber cereals to give your yogurt an extra
kick in nutritional value and flavor.

Spinach

Have you ever watched Popeye? If you have, then you know
what happens when he gets his spinach fix. His muscles pop
out and he gets this great big burst of energy and ends up
beating the crap out of the guy.

My point is not to eat spinach and beat the crap out of
people but that spinach holds many nutrients that will give
you that extra boost of energy.

Spinach is a vegetable that's packed with vitamins,
minerals and super healing powers. On top of that it's a
great source for antioxidants, and folic acid that will
help protect you from many diseases. Research has also
shown that spinach may lower your risk of strokes, colon
cancer, cataracts, heart disease, osteoporosis, hip
fractures, memory loss, Alzheimer's disease, depression,
and even birth defects.

Canned Salmon, Tuna, or Sardines

A big thing hitting the media now-a-days is heart health.
Salmon, tuna, and sardines are three fishes that are loaded
with essential, heart-healing, inflammation-fighting
omega-3 fatty acids. Getting these fish into your daily
eating plan is pretty easy. You can just add them to a
fresh tossed salad; add them into a sandwich or as a snack
