4 Key Considerations to Gain Muscle Mass

4 Key Considerations to Gain Muscle Mass
In today's society weight is almost a taboo word. There is
an obsession in society and in the media with losing weight
fast. However, some people do not need to be thinner and
actually need to put on a little weight. If they gain
muscle mass instead of fat they will not only put on
weight, but they will look better for it too. In this
article I discuss four guidelines to help you can gain
muscle mass:

1) DIET:- Most people who exercise regularly monitor their
food intake. They control the quantities they are
consuming and avoid certain types of food. To gain muscle
mass you need to focus on increasing your caloric intake
and your protein intake. You may also gain fat in this
process (as a result of consuming additional calories) but
if you stick to a regular exercise routine you should soon
lose this excess fat whilst maintaining the muscle you have
gained.

Gaining fat initially is not a bad thing. The excess fat
will give you the additional energy and calories required
to gain muscle mass. Once you gain the desired amount of
muscle you can then change your diet to one that promotes
fat burning as opposed to muscle gain till you reach a
happy medium. Some athletes have reported that it is
easier to lose their excess fat by following a fat loss
diet for a short period after they have reached their
preferred muscle weight and continuing with their same
workout.

2) NUMBER OF MEALS:- If you are eating to gain muscle it is
recommended that you increase your number of daily meals to
5 or 6. By eating more regularly you can saturate your
body with amino acids and glycogen (gained from
carbohydrates and proteins) and ensure that your body does
not enter starvation mode (whereby it would start burning
muscle tissues).

3) WEIGHT TRAINING:- Eating the right food is a step in the
right direction but without proper training you will not
gain muscle mass. In the beginning you should do all your
weight training under the supervision of a trained
instructor. They will be able to make sure you are doing
the exercises in the right way, thereby avoiding injury.
They can also show you the best exercises for building
muscle. For example, squats and presses are good ways to
gain muscle mass.

4) OVER TRAINING:- Over training is a major factor behind
bodybuilders failing to gain muscle mass. You need to give
your body time to rest and repair so that your muscles can
grow. To avoid over training you should try to limit each
session to 2 hours maximum, not train for more than 2
consecutive days and take a week off every 6-8 weeks.

Gaining muscle mass is a great but often overlooked way to
improve your health and overall appearance. Building
muscle can be difficult when you are a beginner because you
are unsure what exercises to do, what foods to eat and what
supplements to take. However, with the right information
it gets a lot easier. I hope this article has given you a
few pointers and helps you in your quest to gain muscle
mass.

What Happens When "Just Do It" Isn't Enough?

What Happens When "Just Do It" Isn't Enough?
I was visiting a good friend the other day-we've known each
other for years. Our sons went to elementary school
together. I remember a time when the two of them weren't
talking, and we were upset. I think the logic was "if we
can be friends, so can they," and they defied our logic!
Kids.

She's been so good to me, and we've talked on many
occasions about health, nutrition and exercise. Being a
nutritionist, I'm a big talker in these areas, and as a
teacher (I teach nutrition to business students), I want to
make sure everyone agrees with me.

After offering all my sage wisdom on how to increase
activity (you know, start with something you like,
anything...just do it)-she looked at me and said "but there
is nothing that interests me. What can you do with someone
like me?"

My first reaction was "absolutely nothing, I'm afraid,"
figuring she was simply doomed to be inflexible (literally
and figuratively), having high blood pressure and hoping
she had paid up her life insurance.

But then I began to think about this conundrum. After all,
she's not the only person out there who can't figure out
what do to for activity. She's not the only one who is
bombarded with information (including mine) about the
health benefits of exercise and being active. And by no
stretch of the imagination (which may be the only
stretching she does right now) is she the only one who
feels guilty and angry at being made to feel like she is
doomed to die young. My friend doesn't smoke, she tries to
eat well, she has the occasional drink. She is a wonderful
friend who listens and has helped me out tremendously in
the past-and she deserves to have my attention and not be
written off as someone who has ""chosen" to be unhealthy.

The question then, is "what can I do for folks like her?"
The reality is that if she does want to be active, she has
taken the first step (asking how to do it), which is great.
However, she is just not interested in any activity that
seems to be "in"-fitness classes, walking, biking.

What she needs to do, I decided, is work on her attitude.
If deciding that "just do it" isn't for her, then she needs
to think more seriously about what type of changes she is
willing to make to find an activity to do. If we can't get
her started physically, we have to get started mentally.
The question is-how?

While I may teach to business students, I have learned a
bit about business from them. One concept I've begun to
understand is "cost/benefit analysis." The idea is that
you figure out the cost of an actions and weigh it against
the benefit of that action. If the benefit outweighs the
cost, then you've made a good decision. .
Perhaps I
should talk to my friend about this. Maybe I could talk
about the cost of walking (putting on her sneakers,
dragging herself out of the house, walking to the end of
the block and back) versus the benefit of walking (getting
outside in the fresh air, stretching some muscles, finding
out that 5 minutes isn't really a long time and maybe
walking longer next time). This is pretty "user friendly"
information-and maybe then she would be able to take that
first step-literally. I wouldn't have to go into the long
term benefits of burning calories, losing weight, reducing
heart disease risk, because she knows this, and all this
does it make her feel guilty.

I think I'll try that. Hopefully it will work for her.
Will it work for you?

Get In The Best Shape Of Your Life Without A Gym

Get In The Best Shape Of Your Life Without A Gym
The other night I was sitting on my soft comfy couch. It
was late about 10 PM, and I was watching TV. There wasn't
all that much on, that I cared to watch anyway, until I
flipped the channel one last time.

What I saw was so entertaining, it was full of humor and
deceit, it was extremely popular as well. What was it,
let's see..... "Introducing the revolutionary new Body by
Jake Ab Scissor Ultra the real machine that delivers real
results in just 4 minutes a day"

Are you excited?

I tell you I am. Having a background in Gyms & Fitness I
really enjoy watching these infomercials touting their
various claims.

However, for many people this "Ab Scissor Ultra" could be a
pathway to disappointment and discouragement. Not only
that, it would be a waste of money and time.

How does this happen, take a look.

"The secret is the Ab Scissor Ultra's patented
gravitational linkage system, a biomechanical breakthrough,
that creates the perfect synchronized abdominal motion,
"The Scissor Crunch"." All I can say is wow, Gravitational
Linkage, that sounds fancy. Kinda sounds like what you
would find in a Gym.

These infomercial always try to confuse people with their
hocus pocus like terminology, this one happens to be the
"gravitational linkage", and they all have their own
gimmick.

It almost reminds me of watching an episode of Star Trek
when the say something like a quantum phasic converter - it
sounds complicated - but it means nothing.

To an average viewer, these breakthrough technologies can
sound quite truthful, and like they really are something
new and exciting that may be worthwhile. I'm not here to
say that all Ab Gadgets in Gyms are "completely" worthless,
they are just pretty close to it.

They are not needed and usually ordered and used for a week
or two then stored in the downstairs closet, until you have
a garage sale 10 years later when you find it again.

They can stimulate your abdominal muscles, that is true. A
study by the American Council on Exercise confirmed this
and stated that.... "Those Ab devices provide no apparent
benefit or detriment when compared to a properly performed
crunch.

The one we talked about is just one of a plethora of these
contraptions. Six Second Abs, Ab Doer, Ab Swing, Torso
Track, Ab Dolly, Ab Rocker are some others, just to name a
few. While they sound fascinating, they don't look all that
snazzy.

You may say, "Hey Gym And Fitness Expert Zach, what about
all those great before and after pictures they show, aren't
those real, they must be they always have such excellent
results and a dramatic change between the pictures."

Let's see one such example!!

"I lost 20 pounds, and reduced my body fat by over 14%, I'm
happy, I'm really happy."

I was watching the infomercial and when I was looking
carefully - "Let's see, oh, it says, "Weight loss achieved
by low calorie diet and regular exercise"

But I thought it was from the Ab Scissor, oh well. Not only
that, there is other deception involved.

If you look at a before and after picture you often see
dramatic changes that seem inspiring. This is very
deceptive, let's look at some common trickery. Here are a
few key differences between most before and after pictures.

Before Photo:

1. Stomach relaxed

2. Slouching

3. Loose fitting clothes

4. Poor Lighting

5. Unshaven

After Photo

1. Stomach in

2. Standing up straight

3. Form fitting clothes

4. Good Lighting

5. Shaved

While I'm sure it would be fun to use some of these devices
- I know I would have some fun, however, it would not be
worthwhile as far as gyms are concerned.

They are pretty much a waste of time and money and you are
better off to not even join a Gym and use them even if they
were free. Conventional ab exercises are just as effective
and you don't need any special equipment.

Next time you see that late night infomercial for the Ab
Eraser XL for 11 easy payments of $12.95, you know what to
do, first hide your credit cards, then watch it for the
entertainment value.

Vitamins of the Future will be Rediscovered in Mother Nature's Pharmacy

Vitamins of the Future will be Rediscovered in Mother Nature's Pharmacy
Vitamins of the Future will be rediscovered in Mother
Nature's Pharmacy ...a three person debate about dietary
supplements and grandmother may just have been right all
along..

The dietary supplementation business has never been bigger.
Consumers are looking for specialized supplements hoping
for their active role in preventing disease. Consumers
understand that one of the most important decisions we can
make for long term health is our choice of proper vitamins
and minerals. The word "supplements" can be interpreted
in multiple ways and therein lays the first problem. In
this boom mentality, in this maze of products, one needs to
be extremely knowledgeable about the total picture of
dietary supplementation, the main players, and the best
value of vitamins for our human biology, not just our
pocketbooks.

Let's set up a little debate with the top three players in
this business presenting their different points of view.
One of the players is an imaginary figure and therein lies
the second problem. Her voice is not heard on media
commercials, splashed in ads or read on the side of bottles
or boxes. But she originated vitamins and with imagination
let's give her a speaking platform.

First, there is Mr. Pops...he is a successful owner of a
vitamin manufacturing company and produces colorfully
labeled Optimum MultiVitamin Pills. He advertises copiously
and people buy what sounds familiar and doesn't cost too
much per item. Second, is Dr. Smith who is a bioscientist
in the newly emerging field of nutritional science only a
few seconds old on a 24 hour medical timeline. Third is our
mystery guest, old, grand and venerable.

Mr. Pops gives us a quick overview of the vitamin industry.
"The word vitamin was first coined in the early 1900's by a
scientist recognizing this "vital amine" as important to
proper cell functions. To make our pills, we first bulk
order 20 kinds of vitamin and mineral raw ingredients from
a GMP registered facility. The mass production is
automated on conveyor belts and starts with high speed
tableting machines on paddles or ribbon blenders to allow
for separation of particles based on density. The carefully
measured ingredients (as per label) are combined with other
fillers, flavors, and colorants. The tablets are pressed
and spray coated to help withstand the packaging and
shipping process. We're pleased to say we use hydrolyzed
vegetable protein which we believe allows for better
absorption by the intestines than the cheaper mineral salts
used by the majority of brands. We bottle the pills, label
with a full disclosure of ingredients, stamp expiry date
and ship.

We spend a lot of money on branding and advertising market
recognition. It was a coup for us to get a multimillion
dollar endorsement from a great sports star with a great
likeable personality.

The mystery guest only smiles acknowledging silently that
there are thousands of competitive companies like Mr. Pops,
but most get their supplies from only 12 main manufacturers
with the laboratory ability to extract raw ingredients.

Second is Dr. Smith, a nutritional bioscientist.

"I'll begin by first saying some exciting news that relates
to grandma... Remember when grandma first use to tell you
to eat all your vegetables...she may have been right after
all. She may not have told you that when you eat just one
serving of vegetables you're ingesting at least 100
different phytochemicals or phytonutrients. But science is
now validating this health connection to a whole base of
ethno-botanical knowledge and plant pharmacology! Plant
constituents are variously called phytonutrients,
bioflavanoids or polyphenols and are found in seeds, bark,
flowers, and fruit skin. In fact, nutritional sciences have
advanced in the same way as pharmaceutical science through
molecular cell cultures and long term reviews to show a
multitude of benefits in our plant food. Who would have
imagined? Real food compounds have been proven to reduce
allergic responses, prevent formation of carcinogens,
control inflammatory conditions, lessen coronary heart
conditions, reduce liver disease, and protect against
cataracts and macular degeneration. These bioflavanoids
also scavenge free radicals that cause oxidative damage
implicated in long term inflammatory and degenerative
diseases. For example...blueberries by virtue of plant
pigments (the known 40 anthocyanins and 300 other
compounds) have 2400 times the antioxidant power of Vitamin
E by itself. No wonder the USDA (US Department of
Agriculture) has pointed out that "it appears that an
effective strategy of supporting health is to increase
consumption of phytonutrient rich food." It is with just
cause that the Cancer Institute and the Heart Institute
recommend eating a variety of vegetables and fruit 5 to 7
times daily or more if possible. Statistics show that most
people do not, but even for those who do, there is the
overriding question of how nutrient-dense supermarket
vegetables are because of mineral depleted soils and mass
production. So many consumers subscribe to supplementing
their diets as we've heard. Lately, the market trend is
towards whole food extracts, super food formulas as liquid
nutrition to provide the holistic synergy of total
vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients rather
than an array of pills. The question consumers need to
answer in their own minds...do we trust what comes out
laboratories more than what is already provided naturally?

Both look towards the mystery guest...it is her turn to
speak. Her voice is low and liquid.

"Thank you for your comments and I appreciate your efforts.
I am particularly delighted to see how scientific studies
are now validating our ancient wisdom. Science is now
corroborating what people have known that food from plants
is our best source of natural biochemicals that support
levels of biochemicals found in human metabolism. Health
and disease begin in the single cell and each cell needs
one hundred plus nutrients on a daily basis. Depriving even
a few proper nutrients will cause cellular degeneration
over many years which evolve into a disease.

You see I am known as Mother Nature and my provisions are
the foundation of human biology from time immemorial. My
language is the physical world and my physical elements
became part of your physical structure...no formulas, no
programs, no theories. My plant micronutrients become your
cellular micronutrients and they are programmed to be part
of your inborn potential for growth, repair and protection
from disease.

In trying to understand the breadth and volume of my world,
scientists have managed to delineate and classify me into
"specialists" sections many with names that only linguists
can pronounce. Currently scientists are struggling to
classify at least 20,000 phytonutrients, of which only 4000
have been analyzed or tested. To appreciate my complexity,
there are about 500,000 plant species in existence. Only a
mere 10% have been investigated from a phytochemical and
pharmacological point of view.

More sadly, food manufacturers have over processed,
preserved and de-nutriented my natural foods with
thousands of artificial man-made chemicals. People can be
compared to being "hunters" in supermarkets... loading
their buggies with bottles, boxes and cans full of refined,
reconstituted and fortified unnatural food stuffs. Yet our
genetic biology has not changed that much from the earliest
times when our diets were based on gathering foods, such as
whole grains, seeds, fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately,
my lack of formal language has placed me in the back of the
room, drowned out by louder more persistent voices carrying
the debate, often based on profit margins. However, it is
no longer reasonable to assume that a single substance
whether nutrient, pill or drug, can aid or fix all of the
body's interdependent systems. In my world, vitamins,
antioxidants, phytonutrients, amino acids, essential fatty
acids, enzymes and minerals work together.

In fact, I find myself in a strange place of having my
natural plants, herbs and spices tested for their
nutritional value and questioned in terms of "preventing,
curing, mitigating or treating diseases." Drug companies
especially cannot patent a natural plant and make no
profits unless they can sell an exclusive "discovery" or a
new and improved facsimile.

My hope for you is to begin to use the word phytonutrition
in every day language...I am absolutely amazed that this
word isn't even found in the dictionary but it should be
heralded as the word of the century. Phytonutrition is all
about using whole plant foods and supplementation to
provide the essential micronutrients for metabolic energy,
body building and protection against cellular diseases.

My last warning is if you're confused or lack knowledge
about the endless studies and claims, then draw your
nutritional and supplementation needs from the natural
world. In my world, my foods are not designed as 'optimal
daily recommended intakes' or bioengineering some
co-factor activity combination. Trust the Divine Mastery of
Nature. Be awe inspired that you can trace the course of
nutrients through the ocean, the air, the soil, your
plants, your body and back to the ocean again. You are of
the earth. Protect and embrace it as you protect and
embrace yourself."

Get Clean Inside

Get Clean Inside
Internal detox kits (often called colon cleanse kits,
detox-in-a-box, or whole body cleanses) is a rapidly
growing segment of the alternative health care market.

For people who don't have the time or expertise to cobble
together their own detox plan, using a kit can be just the
Do-It-Yourself (DIY) ticket.

People familiar with alternative health therapies have
probably looked into the benefits of colon cleansing kits.

But if you're new to game, think of a detox kit in the same
way you would use Jiffy Lube to service your car every
3,000 miles to keep it running smoothly.

The same way a car runs on oil and gas, your body fuels
itself with food and water.

Change the oil and air filter on your car regularly and
your car runs purrs like a kitten.

Gently clear out the toxic waste and undigested food from
your cells and intestines one or twice a year and watch
your body radiate with renewed vitality.

Internal detox kits effectively push the "reset button" on
your overall health.

Your commitment to maintain a healthy lifestyle becomes
that much easier once the years of toxic build-up are out
of your system.

Colon cleanse kits are easy to use and take little time to
get great results. Most kits have easy-to-follow
instructions, recommended foods to eat and recipes.

The price is right too, with most 7 & 14 day kits costing
less than $25 dollars.

Kits use gentle, natural herbs and fiber to eliminate caked
up, undigested refined foods like sugar and white flour
from the colon.

More advanced kits detoxify your whole body including your
liver, kidneys, lungs and blood.

There's a common misconception that colon cleansing robs
the body of nutrients.

Quite the opposite: essential vitamins and minerals in the
detox kit formulations actually boost your health and
immunity.

This boost helps you eliminate more toxins than it could on
its own.

When I bought my first detox kit in 2002, there were only
two kits to choose from.

Walk into any health food store today and the shelves are
lined with detox kits for every body part and ailment
imaginable.

BE WARNED: Not all colon cleanse kits are created equally.

Knowing which colon cleansing kit is right for you is the
key to having a successful cleanse.

Not only have I tried many of these kits myself, but my
approach tend to be a more holistic view of cleansing.

If you value your time and are serious about turning those
New Year's resolutions into realities, consider choosing a
detox kits as a viable, cost-effective way make them a
reality.

To your health and well-being.

3 exercises that don't work

3 exercises that don't work
My parents have lived in the same house in the same small
town for longer than I have been alive. And I leave the big
city of Toronto to go visit them quite often, and as a
result, I go to a small town YMCA to do my workouts when
I'm there.

It's at the Y where I come across exercises I thought had
died off a long time ago. But to my surprise, I still see
men and women doing useless, ineffective exercises while
they try to burn off their belly fat, lose inches from
their waists, and tone their muscles.

All you need are the basics. You do need to work hard, make
no doubt about it, but the good news is that you don't have
to work hard for long if you choose the right exercises.
You should be done your workouts in no more than 45
minutes. And you only have to exercise hard 3 days per
week, not 6 or 7.

Here are 3 of the most ineffective techniques I've come
across recently...

1) Broomstick Twists

You know this classic move, put the broomstick across your
shoulders and rotate side to side, with the hopes it will
whittle your waist down inch by inch.

But to what should be no one's surprise, this doesn't work.
All that twisting is a waste of time. If you really want to
lose belly fat, you have to do a lot more than that.

A better option: Recent research shows interval training is
the best way to burn off belly fat.

2) Triceps Exercises

If you're a competitive bodybuilder, than triceps and
biceps exercises are fine to have in your program. But if
you are a busy man or woman that needs more results in less
time, doing any type of isolation exercise (such as triceps
kickbacks) is a waste of your precious time.

A better option: Any type of pushup. From kneeling pushups
to close-grip pushups (where your hands are about
shoulder-width apart), you'll get so much more benefit to
the rest of your body and to your fat burning, body-
sculpting program if you choose pushups over triceps
exercises.

3) Exercises Standing on a Ball or Other Gadget

Lots of trainers are asking their clients to perform
traditional exercises while standing on balls, half-balls,
and inflatable disks, but I know this is not only a waste
of time, but also dangerous! I can't imagine the drama if
someone fell off a ball while doing an exercise. Could you
imagine trying to rationalize that in court?

Regardless, you will get stronger and even improve your
balance more by training traditional exericses standing on
the floor. Strength is the key to any gains in balance, fat
loss, and muscle mass. By doing exercises on a wobbly
surface, you reduce the strength gains and therefore all
the rest of the benefits.

You need to stick with multi-muscle exercises, total body
movements and efficient methods of working out.

Six Acne Fighting Tips

Six Acne Fighting Tips
Taking care of your skin is important for lots of reasons.
If you don't take care of your skin, the rest of your body
is affected in one way or another. Taking care of your skin
is especially important when you are struggling with acne.
Taking care of your skin also makes it look good, which
makes you feel good as well. It makes others want to talk
to and be around you, it makes you more popular. Teens
especially know all about skin care, probably better than
most adults since a majority of teens experience acne.

Now if you struggle with acne, then chances are you have
been through many different products without much success.
Either the product you try doesn't work, or it doesn't work
well enough or long enough. It seems hard to find the right
product that will give you the long-lasting results you are
looking for.

So here are some tips and tricks that will get you on your
way to being acne-free, happier, healthier, and just better
overall:

Tip #1: Clean your skin! Your face is where everyone is
looking at, so you want to keep it looking and feeling
nice. Don't be touching it all the time with your hands
that are probably covered in bacteria and dirt that could
only serve to make your acne even worse. Also develop a
regimen of cleaning your skin every day, at least twice,
when you wake up and when you go to bed.

Tip #2: Control the oil. Don't buy cosmetic or acne
treatment products with lots of oils in them. The reason
you are experience acne in the first place is because of a
buildup of excess oils in the skin.

Tip #3: Don't touch, just resist. By touching your
blemishes and pimples you will only make them worse and
possible infect them.

Tip #4: If you are a women or man masking scars, choose
makeup with a minimum amount of oils in them. Make sure the
product says "noncomedogenic" on it, as this means the
product will not clog pores.

Tip #5: Make sure when you shave, you take care time and
don't cut yourself or pop any existing pimples or zits, as
they may get infected.

Tip #6: Despite popular belief, tanning yourself to death
does not help acne, so limit your sunlight exposure to a
normal amount everyday.

Lower and Reduce Cholesterol Levels Naturally

Lower and Reduce Cholesterol Levels Naturally
Cholesterol is an essential substance that our bodies
produce. Cholesterol is a waxy, soft material that is
found around the lipids of our bloodstream and in our
cells. Good cholesterol is important for our cell membrane
formation, our hormones and other functions. However, when
our cholesterol level gets too high because of the foods
that compose our diets, it results in a condition called
hypercholesteroemia. Cholesterol either LDL or HDL. LDL,
i.e. low-density lipoprotein is the harmful cholesterol.
HDL, i.e. high-density lipoprotein is the beneficial
cholesterol. Our health is improved when we reduce our LDL
level and increase our HDL level. An elevated LDL
cholesterol level can result in heart disease which kills a
third of us and takes 10-15 years off our average
life-span. High blood levels of cholesterol and
triglycerides can lead to arteriosclerosis, i.e. hardening
of the arteries that results in less blood flow and so less
oxygen for our cells and tissues. If arteriosclerosis
develops near our heart, it puts us at risk for a heart
attack. If arteriosclerosis develops near our head and
neck, we are at risk for a stroke. Arteriosclerosis leads
to high blood pressure because the walls of our arteries
are lined with cholesterol making the passage for our blood
flow smaller and even blocked which requires our heart to
pump blood with more force in order for our blood to
circulate.

A variety of synthetic, prescription drugs called "statins"
are used extensively in our culture. Statins block an
enzyme that our liver needs for the production of
cholesterol. Statins do reduce LDL levels, but do not
raise HDL levels which we need for our cells and tissues.
The side effects of statins potentially include liver
damage, fatigue, nausea and disruption of healthy digestion
signaled by abdominal pains and craps, gas and
constipation. We can avoid the potential harmful side
effects of statins by turning to substances that occur
naturally to reduce LDL cholesterol and increase HDL
cholesterol. Not only are these substances natural and
without the risk of harmful side effects, but they also
carry many other health benefits beyond those of reducing
cholesterol.

Chromium is a trace mineral that promotes healthy blood
sugar levels and therefore the risk of insulin resistence
that leads to high cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Garlic supplement with standardized, high levels of allicin
has been shown to lower LDL levels and raise HDL levels

Gugulipid or guggul. is the gum of the myrrh tree and is an
ancient Indian medicine. Gugulipid is able to lower LDL and
triglycerides. It connects to cholesterol in our intestines
and we eliminate the cholesterol before it can enter our
bloodstream.

Maitake mushroom extract is yet another naturally occurring
material that has been shown to lower LDL cholesterol.

Flaxseed oil contains a soluble fiber that binds to
cholesterol in the intestines and helps eliminate
cholesterol. Flaxseed oil contains Omega 3 essential fatty
acid that forms alpha-linolenic acid or LNA. LNA lowers
triglycerides and slows the growth of arteriosclerosis
plaque. Fish oil is also high in Omega 3 essential fatty
acid.

Apple Pectin, oat bran, and psyllium are fibers that bind
to cholesterol in the intestines where it can be eliminated.

Red yeast rice is rice fermented with a red yeast. It has
been shown that red yeast rice balances cholesterol levels.
It is recommended that red yeast rice should be used in
combination with Co Q 10. Formulas of red yeast rice and
Co Q 10 are available.

Niacin may help reduce cholesterol. Niacin is found in
vitamin B3. Other B vitamins such as B6, B9 and B12 do not
necessarily reduce cholesterol, but they do lower high
homocysteine levels which carry a risk for heart disease.

Vitamin E may prevent the formation of fatty deposits on
the inside of our arteries. Many medical journals contain
articles praising the benefit of vitamin E for a healthy
heart. It has been recommended that we get at least 400 IU
of vitamin E each day.

Other natural substances that we can obtain in supplement
form to lower and reduce cholesterol levels include,
alfalfa, aloe vera juice, devils claw, fenugreek, ginger,
grape seed extract, green tea, licorice, milk thistle, soy
and evening primrose. We need not risk the potential
harmful side effects of synthetic, prescription drugs, such
as statins, in order to lower and reduce high cholesterol
levels. All these natural nutritional materials give us
many other health benefits as well as reduce cholesterol
levels. We can also obtain heart healthy, cholesterol
lowering and reducing formulas containing combinations of
many of these natural substances in synergistic proportion.

Covered-up Weight-Loss Lies

Covered-up Weight-Loss Lies
I'm tired of the lies in the health and fitness industry.

Over half the population is on a diet or actively
exercising, yet over three quarters of the population is
overweight.

Why has being overweight accelerated into obesity? Why is
obesity now a disease? Why is it that the more people
diet and exercise the fatter and more unhealthy they become?

What is going on? What is missing from the equation that
you are NOT being told?

What diet, nutrition, and exercise advice are you
following? Is it effective?

Did your last "fitness program":

Drain your energy

Starve you Stress you out

Depress you

Cause binges

Cause a loss of strength

Create weight gain when you completed it

If you answered "yes" to any of the above...

Surprise! You're not alone!

You see, it's not what you are doing wrong it's what you
are not being told about how to lose fat and how to keep
fat off.

Sure, there are external factors that affect our weight
such as:

In activity

Long work hours

Eating out frequently

Consuming larger portions

But these are the easy dilemmas to correct.

What I like to uncover are the issues that are NOT being
told.

What are some hidden factors that contribute to accelerated
fat gain?

Would it surprise you to know that those beautifully packed
meals in boxes labeled "healthy," or "low-fat," or
"carb-free," etc. actually contribute to weight gain?

Would you find it shocking that cutting and/or eliminating
fat from your diet will increase weight gain?

Would you be stunned that elements you may not even be
aware of cause weight gain, and further more those elements
are not even being mentioned to you?

I'm telling you right now you don't have to be a victim of
weight loss any more.

You can have the truth about weight loss and how to
permanently keep it off without starving yourself, without
cutting the fat out your food so it's like eating wood,
without cutting the carbs and feeling light-headed, without
eating popular weight-loss clinic's boxed foods, etc.

You can have that freedom you always wanted.

You can have your control back.

You can eat real food, carbs, and fat and still lose weight!

What I can teach you is what foods to eat, when to eat
them, and how to group them so you can have that fat-loss
advantage.

Remember, it's all about going back to the basics and
feeding your body in a fashion that it's allowed to burn
fat. When you give your body the fat-loss permission,
it'll burn fat like a furnace.
