The Best Diet And Exercises For Abdominals

The Best Diet And Exercises For Abdominals
A question I run into a lot from personal training clients
is "What diet and exercises are the best for me to do so I
can see my abs?" For some reason there is a misconception
that there is something special that you do different from
regular training in order to get a six-pack.

The truth of the matter is that developing a six pack comes
back to the same information that we have heard before. You
need to train your whole body, and eat properly in order to
reduce your body fat so that your abdominals become visible.

It's just not possible to wake up one day and decide that
you would like to have a lean, fat free stomach and that
you can achieve this through some quick "plan" that will
zero in on your stomach to the exclusion of the rest of
your body.

You can have the main goal of seeing a massive change to
your stomach but if you take the correct actions to attain
a six-pack in the fastest manner possible, you MUST see
changes in your whole body.

What I am saying is that even though it may seem indirect,
you will see greater visual changes to your stomach in a
shorter period of time from doing three whole body workouts
a week, some cardio and eating 5 small meals a day then you
ever will from the best ab gadgets and fat burning pills
out there.

Let's just say for the sake of argument that some of these
ab machines work excellent for stimulating the abdominals.
They still don't do anything to remove the layer of fat
that is covering them and making them impossible to see. In
order to remove that layer of fat, you need to burn off
calories and you also need a way to keep that layer from
coming back. This brings me to the fat burning pills.

First let me say that fat burners are a joke and that you
can get the same effect from drinking coffee and green tea.
That effect is a temporary high in energy and kick in the
pants to your nervous system. You MAY burn slightly more
calories because of your heightened energy levels but when
you crash down and need a nap, you're not burning very many
calories then are you?

Let's just say that there was a fat burner that could be
the answer to all your prayers and that just by taking it
would give you a six pack in a couple of weeks. What
happens once you have that six pack? You'd need to keep
taking and paying for those pills in order keep what you
have. In other words, you'd be an addict with no spare
cash. That's assuming that fat burners did work, which they
don't. There was a time when some of them did, but these
days the ingredients that make them work are now illegal.

Remember, the quickest route to a fat free, flat stomach is
getting rid of excess body fat. You're abs are already
there! Reach down and touch your stomach. Dig deep into any
cushioning you have there and you will feel lumps! Those
are your abs. If you take away the cushioning, you will see
them.

If you want to see a six pack in the shortest possible
time, get working on a full body resistance training
program that includes some abdominal work and cardio work.
Start eating the right foods. Foods that will fire up your
metabolism and give you more energy. Combine these factors
for a couple of weeks and you will see more results in a
couple of weeks then any ab gadget or fat burning pill
could ever give you.

Dancing Through The Holidays

Dancing Through The Holidays
Today I met with a wonderful woman who has been slowly
losing weight. We meet periodically; sometimes she has
lost a few pounds, and sometimes she has gained a bit.
Overall, though, her weight has been going down and she is
happy.

This visit she didn't lost any weight, but she felt that
her clothes were becoming "easier" to put on. We talked
about how, with activity, she may be increasing her
muscles. I explained that while muscles take increase
weight, they take up less space than fat. So it is possible
that while she isn't see a change of weight on the scale,
it is because she is gaining muscle. I explained this is
referred to as "changing her body composition" and that's
why her clothes are feeling looser. She may weigh the
same…but she is taking up less space!

I asked her what her secret was, and she told me: she was
now salsa dancing, and she loved it. This was a new
activity for her, it was social, fun, and, as a side
benefit, it burned a lot of calories.

We went on to discuss what her strategies were for the
holidays. Most folks are so concerned about gaining weight
during this time that they are unable to enjoy the wonder
of the season. They are afraid of losing control of their
diets, and just can't allow themselves the comfort of being
with friends and family. So it is especially important to
me to talk with my clients to make sure they can enjoy
themselves during the holidays. We work to put together
ideas to help them feel in control during these few months.

"I am going to dance through the holidays-that's how I'm
going to make it". She said this with a big grin on her
face and then she laughed. Isn't that wonderful? She has
taken up this exciting new hobby, and has decided that if
she can keep on dancing, watch what she's eating, and
maintain her weight during the next two months-her goals
have been met. While she intends to pay some attention to
food, she knows she doesn't want to obsess about eating.
And she also knows that if she keeps on dancing, she will
be able to burn some of those extra calories and, more
importantly, continue to enjoy herself.

I think we all need to find out how to dance through the
holidays. We all need to find our strategies during these
times when we are surrounded by food and drink. My concern
is that too many people think they should be losing weight
during the holidays, and this is a recipe for failure.
What happens? You decide to deprive yourself of the foods
you love, you are afraid to go to the parties so you become
anxious around people you haven't socialized with (not to
mention the food), and the holidays become so stressful you
aren't able to enjoy yourself.

My suggestion to my clients, and to everyone who is
concerned about their weight? Find yourself an activity you
enjoy (walking, running, jumping up and down-anything that
involves moving), and try to do it as often as you can,
without setting yourself an impossible goal. Remember to
take a deep breath, have a look at EVERYTHING that is being
offered (time to be with special people, listen to music,
cook,) and taste it all.

So this person is going to dance through the holidays.
What about you?

Love Your Inner Health

Love Your Inner Health
LOVE YOUR INNER SELF

Love Your Hair, Love your Job, Love Your Life, Love Your
Man, Love Your House, Love Your Car, Love Your Lover, Love
Your Nails . . .

In chronological order our 'loves' are numerous but
somewhat 'out of order'. Where does "Love Your Inner Self"
come into the equation?

It took Cancer to make me sit up and look at what I was
doing for my inner health ... don't wait that long !

How many times do we stand in front of the mirror doing and
checking our hair; our make-up? How many times do we dust,
clean, sort and rearrange our house? We pay money to have
our hair done, our nails prettied, our car cleaned and
polished, yet we pay or do little to pretty, clean or
polish our inside.

Love yourself enough to think about this at least once.
Better still, be kind enough to 'you' to even research how.

Even more so - enjoy the journey now, to hear my opinion on
this very subject. I hold no responsibility of your
decisions, but recommend information given to me which I
then researched and put into practice, which suited me.

First things, first; never, ever look back and worry. Go
forward and begin to create a new you; A clean, healthy,
happy 'you'. Your Immune System is one of the most
important issues you should be involved in apart from your
spiritual wellbeing.

God gave you a brain to use, then use it! If a car looks
good on the outside with a perfect paint and chrome job,
yet has a dirty engine, missing all the essential
maintenance to keep it running, what use is it to anyone.
It will only break down continually. In the same way, if
we don't maintain our engine, our inner health, what good
will we be to anyone, most importantly our loved ones?!

So here goes. These are some lessons I have learnt over
the past 10 or so years regarding boosting my immune
system. They work for me and should also do the same for
you, however we are all different and have different needs.
Take the information I give you, then research yourself
and make up your own mind to suit your lifestyle.

1. Being contented with what you are doing for your
healthy life is one of the most important steps to a
positive outcome. Your positive mind and soul is a huge
healer.

2. Juicing is a great way to cleanse away right to those
precious, important cells that motivate our body.

3. Taking a highly recommended anti-oxidant is a sure way
to boost your immunity. Check with your health food outlet
but I take one with 12,000mg of grapeseed. Whilst everyone
else was getting sick through winter, I managed (even
though I closely associated with them) to make it all the
way through fit as a fiddle. After putting my husband on
the same, he also maintains a stronger immunity now. Other
vitamins and minerals are helpful as well in addition to
this.

4. I recommend 75% roar fruit and vegetables intake daily,
with some protein, carbs etc. So salad away. Be creative.
They can be fun to do and very yummy. Simple is best.
Try it!

5. Olive Oil ... use lime and olive oil for dressing. At
least a tablespoon of olive oil a day is excellent for good
health.

6. Water, water and more water ... you should have
approximately 2 litres of purified water a day. Combined
with 3 capfuls of Aloe Juice, this becomes a fantastic
blood purifier, cleanser and circulator. It is great for
the digestive system eg. relieves heartburn.

There you go! 'Not everything I know to date but now you
have a list of some of the important, and I find, essential
ways to boost your immune system.

Here's to Great Health ... not just Good Health ... GREAT
HEALTH !

Diabetes Information

Diabetes Information
Diabetes is a disease that develops when the pancreas stops
making insulin. The body uses insulin to let glucose flow
into the cells, where it is used for energy or stored for
later. If the glucose, or sugar, does not move into the
cells, the sugar in the blood becomes too high and the
cells do not work properly. High blood sugar harms the
blood vessels and nerves causing problems with the eyes,
heart, feet, and kidneys.

Type 1 diabetes develops when the pancreas stops producing
insulin. It can occur at any age but typically appears in
children and young adults under age 30. That is why Type 1
is often call Juvenile diabetes. Symptoms of Type 1
diabetes can develop quickly and often first appear after
an illness, such as the flu. These early symptoms are often
overlooked. Typically, they include the following:

- Frequent urination.
- Extreme thirst.
- Increased appetite.
- Sudden unexplained weight loss.

As the blood sugar levels increase, more obvious symptoms
begin to occur. These include:

- Blurred vision
- Drowsiness
- Fast and shallow breathing
- Loss of appetite
- Abdominal pain; and possibly vomiting.

Early treatment and maintain proper blood sugar levels may
keep the disease from becoming worse. If not, there may be
complications from the disease. These would include the
following:

- Chest pain or shortness of breath when you exercise
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- A racing heartbeat.
- Poor circulation in the legs and feet
- Eye disease or pain in the eyes.
- Kidney disease may cause swelling in the feet and legs,
and high blood pressure.

Nerve disease that tingling, numbness, tightness, burning,
or shooting or stabbing pain in the feet, hands, or other
parts of your body, especially at night. An infection in
the foot can spread up through leg and into the bones. In
that case, the affected limb may have to be amputated.

In Type 2 diabetes blood sugar levels rise very slowly.
Often the patient does not have any symptoms and may have
the disease for many years without knowing it.

Type 2 is the most common form of diabetes. People
diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes are usually overweight or
not physically active. It is most often diagnosed in people
over 40 but is becoming more common in children. That is
why Type 2 diabetes is often called adult-onset diabetes.

Type 2 can often be prevented it the person maintains a
healthy body weight and exercises regularly. Treatment for
diabetes often includes medication; including insulin and
focuses on maintain proper levels of blood sugar and
cholesterol.

High blood sugar can occur for many reasons. For example,
if the patient is not taking their diabetes medicines, not
exercising, has been ill or under a lot of stress. Low
blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can occur if the patient is
taking insulin or a sulfonylurea pills for diabetes. Early
symptoms of hypoglycemia include the following:

- Sweating.
- Feeling weak.
- Feeling shaky.
- Feeling very hungry.

These symptoms may appear if there is a large or sudden in
blood sugar levels. In that case, it is recommended that
the patient eat 1 tablespoon of sugar, ½ cup of orange
juice, or another carbohydrate. Wait 15 minutes, and check
their blood sugar level.

If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with Type 1
or Type 2 diabetes, be sure to contact your health care
provider if you notice any new symptoms, such as chest
pain, numbness, or a shooting pain in your hands or feet.

Be sure to tell your doctor if you notice any new symptoms,
such as chest pain, numbness, or a shooting pain in your
hands or feet.
