Food Instinct Beats Intellect

Food Instinct Beats Intellect
Diets do not work. Among the people who do them, 98% of the
people gain the weight back. Also the stress of not eating
as much as you want, makes your system more acid. This
causes you to crave more sugar, salt and fat. Then eating
these things you crave, causes you to hate yourself and you
feel more stress making losing weight even harder. There is
a strong connection between obesity and depression.

Here is how it works. No one teaches the animal what to eat
and what not to eat. The animal knows instinctively what is
good to eat and what is not good to eat. Humans also have
the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever
tastes good and that will be healthy for you and
non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So
again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why
you will spit out spoiled milk. This instinct can help you
lose weight.

I love eating Cabbage Crunch from the salad bar at Whole
Foods. They are the largest natural foods supermarket chain
in the country. Cabbage Crunch contains grated red and
green cabbage, sliced almonds, poppy seeds, scallions
(green onions), olive oil and apple cider vinegar. Cabbage
is one of the healthiest foods for colon health and
preventing cancer. The red cabbage is considered a black
food. Like other black foods (black grapes, black beans and
eggplant) it contains the antioxidant, anthocyandin, that
is good for the cardiovascular system.

One time I got some. As soon as I put it in my mouth, I
spit it out. It was spoiled. But I got my money back and
they had someone go there to remove it. Salt can dull your
sense of taste. Also salt causes you to eat more thereby
making it harder to lose weight.

Butter can be kept unrefrigerated for days without going
bad. When it does go bad (rancid) you do not need to taste
it. You can smell it (rancid-- having a foul smell or
taste). But do not be a person who believes. Be someone who
knows. Leave a piece of butter out for days and smell it
everyday. Have you ever been behind a garbage truck and
could hardly stand the smell? That offensive smell is
telling you that you should not eat that stuff.

Mark Twain and fasting experts say that the fastest way to
get over the flu or a cold is to fast. This is why you lose
your appetite. If someone's sinuses are very congested,
maybe he could eat a rancid meal and not know there is
anything wrong with it.

But wait! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It
tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So
man has done that to you. Note that any food unaltered by
man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you
are stranded in the woods, that is how you would know what
to eat. Just taste everything raw and you will spit out the
toxic plants since they will taste terrible.

There are poisonous mushrooms called toadstool mushrooms.
If you put some raw ones in your mouth, you will spit them
out since they taste horrible. But cook them and add salt
and you can eat enough of them to kill you. Carnivorous
animals love the taste of blood and raw meat since that is
what they are supposed to eat.

So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that
exists in nature, but it is addictive, fattening and
terrible for health. It is called sweets. So it is natural
to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does. But
they have fooled your sense of taste, just like the rat was
fooled. But they do not want to kill you. They just want
you to become obese so you will buy more of their foods.

This is called good business. You can re-acquire your taste
in food and re-learn how to eat. Then you can eat all the
great tasting foods you want and be thin, healthy and fit
for life. Copyright 2008 by Chuck Bluestein

A review of Opuntia ficus-indica based weight loss products - natural fat binding weight loss

A review of Opuntia ficus-indica based weight loss products - natural fat binding weight loss
There are a number of fantastic natural alternatives to fad
diets, surgery and the other slimming products on the
market. One has even received the medical approval of
world famous dieticians and is rated as the best way to
provide fast, stress free and long lasting natural weight
loss results.

These natural weight loss alternatives are classed as
clinically proven fat binders which are most effective with
a reduced calorie diet and appropriate physical exercise.
However, they can be taken after meals and when something
less than healthy has been eaten to balance out their diet.
They are often completely natural and made from all organic
ingredients. Because of this there are no known side
effects.

How will they work for you? They has helped, almost
instantly, many of those who have tried it in their
long-term weight-loss goals. Your fat intake can be reduced
by up to 28%, reducing excess body fat and lowering your
cholesterol.

They are able to work by a fluid gel forming around the
fibers within the pill, making the fat too large for the
body to take in. Even more than that, the other ingredients
help your body's metabolism to work more efficiently
allowing your body to feel full for longer.

While users lost weight almost instantly they were found to
work most effectively when taken over a longer period.
These users stated that they found more effective and more
long-term weight-loss when taking the products for three
months or more.

So what's in the leading natural weight loss products?
Opuntia ficus-indica is a species of Mexican cactus. It is
more commonly known as the Prickly Pear and while Opuntia
produces a nutritious fruit and it has been grown for
hundreds of years as a food source it is now being used
differently.

The healing properties of the Opuntia cactus has been
documented as far back as the fifteenth century. More
recently scientists have discovered that an extract
produced from the dried leaves of the cactus have a very
high lipophilic property. This means that it is very
effective at binding fat in the stomach.

This also means that if you take an Opuntia ficus-indica
based natural weight loss product after each meal it will
block dietary fats and decrease the intestinal absorption
of the fats by nearly 30%. They are also suitable for
vegetarians and those people who are prone to allergies.
Weight loss supplements, natural or otherwise, are not for
everybody so please talk to your doctor before starting any
weight loss program.

Winter Nutrition

Winter Nutrition
Because winter is cold, your diet will need to produce more
warmth and heat. Warm hearty soups, casseroles, and stews
(all water rich foods) will take center stage during the
winter months to fortify and strengthen your kidney/adrenal
pathway. Winter foods are cooked longer and at lower
temperatures than foods during other seasons.

Fruits are out of season and therefore are a smaller part
of the winter diet. In contrast, root vegetables such as
yams, turnips, onions, garlic, and potatoes make up a
bigger portion of a winter diet. Cooked whole grains such
as millet, barley, brown rice, wheat, oats, and buckwheat
are good body heaters. Cooked with legumes such as black
beans, lentils and kidney beans, these make a warming and
nutritious meal.

Salty and bitter foods promote a deepening and centering
energy that promotes the capacity of your body for storage.
These foods tend to bring heat deeper into the body.
However, excessive salt intake can lead to constriction of
the Water element and may be related to problems with blood
pressure.

Bitter foods include:

rye

oats

lettuce

carrot tops

quinoa

lettuce

celery

asparagus

alfalfa

amaranth

escarole

watercress

endive

chicory

citrus peel

Salty foods include:

Miso

Millet

Seaweeds

Barley

soy sauce

and other salted foods

Foods that regenerate and strengthen kidney energy include:

beans and dark foods with salty flavors

millet

buckwheat

black sesame seeds

black soybeans

chestnuts

mulberries

raspberries

strawberries

walnuts

Because winter corresponds to the Water element, ocean
foods such as fish and seaweed are also good winter foods.
While eating more fish is encouraged there are some
guidelines needed. Nearly all fish contain trace amounts of
methyl mercury. In most cases, this is of little concern
because the level is so low. The fish most likely to have
the lowest level of methyl mercury are salmon (usually
undetectable levels), cod, mackerel, cold-water tuna, and
herring.

But certain seafood - particularly swordfish, shark and
some other large predatory fish - may contain high levels
of methyl mercury. Fish absorb methyl mercury from water
and aquatic plants. Larger predatory fish also absorb
mercury from their prey. Methyl mercury binds tightly to
the proteins in fish tissue, including muscle: cooking does
not reduce the mercury content significantly. As a general
rule, fresh water fish should be assumed to be mercury
laden unless specifically proven otherwise. Limit your
intake of fish to about 2 pounds a week – about 4
eight-ounce servings. Limit your intake of swordfish, shark
and warm water tuna to very occasional consumption. Limit
freshwater fish to no more than once a week (women of
childbearing age who might be pregnant and children should
avoid all freshwater fish completely). Reduce the
consumption of farm-raised fish. Eat most of your fish
baked or steamed and avoid fried, grilled or barbecued fish.

This winter take the time to cuddle up in a warm and cozy
place. Spend time meditating and listening to yourself.
Dream, reflect and store up energy and vitality. Sip
strengthening herbal tonics and nourish yourself with
hearty stews, soups and casseroles.

Enjoy the quiet of the winter season.
