Fat No More Secrets 3 of 10 - I am fat to avoid jealousy

Fat No More Secrets 3 of 10 - I am fat to avoid jealousy
Losing weight is not just about dieting or exercising as
proven by the countless number of failed diets and exercise
programs. First, you need to identify and let go of the
many Mental, Emotional, Subconscious, and Spiritual blocks
that prevent you from losing weight. I call them the
M.E.S.S. blocks; they are limiting beliefs, thoughts, or
fears that prevent your weight loss. If you do not let go
of these blocks, you will continue to have an extremely
hard time losing weight and, if you do succeed, you will
continue to gain the weight back.

There is so much jealousy in this world that if you are too
attractive, the people around you may become jealous, and
you could end up with friends who drag you down, or with no
friends at all.

If you lose a lot of weight, many people around you will
most likely be happy that you lost the weight, but some of
them will also be jealous and intimidated by your new good
looks. When you make positive changes, your spirit rises
and you will not connect as well with family members,
friends, and peers if they stay the same.

Your family, friends, and peers may not be comfortable with
the new you because they do not know how to deal with you,
and, honestly, they may not be comfortable with the fact
that you are thin and they are not. Of course, they will
not have the courage nor the desire to tell you that they
do not like the new you. Instead, they will often do
everything possible behind your back to criticize you and
bring you back to their level, that is, to once more become
overweight. If you return to your overweight state of
being, they will be able to relate to you and to be
comfortable with you again but most of all they will feel
better about themselves.

So, you need to be ready for this lack of support and to
stand up for what you worked hard to achieve. You need to
feel that you deserve 100 % to be thin so that you do not
reverse back to your original overweight state. Often, we
block losing weight to avoid jealousy and maintain peaceful
relationships with family members, friends, and peers. We
choose to remain overweight to maintain peace. How sad...

My advice for you is to let go of this M.E.S.S. block, put
yourself first, be ready to let go of friends and peers who
do not support your life successes, and surround yourself
with new friends who fully support the new you.

How Women Over 30 Can Get Instant Motivation When You Don't Feel Like Working Out With This Secret

How Women Over 30 Can Get Instant Motivation When You Don't Feel Like Working Out With This Secret
Are you a woman over 30 and still struggling to get
motivated to workout so you can lose unwanted fat around
your hips, thighs and stomach?

Do you find yourself giving excuses as to why you are not
working out or do you keep hitting the snooze button in the
morning telling yourself it's just too early to get up to
workout?

Ultimately, you feel terrible, sluggish, and your not
accomplishing your fitness goals. You are stuck.

I know what it feels like to be stuck, wishing you had a
button on your body to press to give you instant motivation.

I struggled with my weight as a teenager and I would go
through this same process for many years, which left me
very depressed and desperate, I kept thinking there had to
be a way I could stay focused to lose weight.

Finally, I discovered some secrets that I used to give me
the instant motivation that I needed, and as a result, I
achieved the body that I always wanted.

I felt so empowered that it has changed my life and I am on
a mission to share my weight loss success with all women
over 30 that are struggling to lose weight because they
just can't seem to get motivated.

Most women think that in order to achieve the body of their
dreams that they need the perfect exercise and nutrition
program.

This is true, but there's more to it than that. The real
secret is learning how to re-program your mind for ultimate
fat-loss success by putting yourself in "autopilot" mode.

I want to share with you some simple, yet powerful
techniques that I have helped many women just like you to
get instant motivational to help get unstuck and create the
body you deserve and desire.

The scenario: You are getting ready to go to bed and you
decide that you will get up at 6am the next morning to
exercise.

The best way to approach this is to tell your subconscious
mind "I am getting up at 6am to exercise". When you tell
specifically your subconscious mind to do something it is
very powerful.

Your subconscious mind is turned on 24/7, even while you
are sleeping. Especially, right before you fall asleep that
programming your subconscious is a powerful way to keep you
focused. Then, you want to imagine yourself getting up at
6am, jumping out of bed, putting on your workout clothes,
and going through your workout.

See yourself complete your workout and notice how you feel
when you are done.

One of the most powerful things you can do is to link the
feelings that it will bring you once you are done. Keep
running this scene in your mind so that you are strongly
connected to it.

Practice this each time and you will start to notice how
much easier it is getting up and working out.

Women fitness fashion- what should you wear.

Women fitness fashion- what should you wear.
Sometimes all you need to get motivated to start a fitness
program is some new threads. There was a time when the
only sorts of fitness clothes were leotards and spandex
pants. Not to many women were comfortable in wearing
something like this. Thankful though in our day and age
there is a wide selection of clothes to fit anyone's needs.
For some people, especially once they start to lose
weight, it becomes just as important to look good as it
does to feel comfortable!

The first things to consider when looking for workout
clothes are are they comfortable and not restricting? If
you are going to be doing a high impact cardio workout you
want to make sure that your clothes will be easy to move
around in. The material should be flexible and breathable.
You don't want to have soaking wet pants or a top after
a good workout.

Check out the material that the clothes are made of.
Wicking-material clothes are a good choice for runners or
speed walkers. This type of material helps the
evaporation of sweat and is quick cooling. You can also
wear it under warmer clothing for when you are outside
during the colder months. Fleece is another excellent
choice. It keeps you warm without being bulky and is also
water resistant. There are also nylon and supplex clothes
too.

So how do you know which one is right for you? It all
depends on your activity. If you are a runner, you might
want to go with the wicking material to help keep you dry
as you run. You can even look at clothes that are made
with what is called 100% moisture transfer polyester.
These clothes will take moisture away from skin and keep
you dry and comfortable.

You also want to make sure you do not get anything heavy to
wear and it is a good rule of thumb to wear lighter clothes
than temperatures might be. If you dress yourself to
warmly you might find yourself sweating more than you
should which will put you at a bigger risk of dehydration.
So make sure your clothes have plenty of breathing room.
In fact if it is very cold out, you should think about
dressing in layers. That way if you get to warm you can
simply remove a layer. In the warmer weather, you might
want to wear light colored clothes to reflect the sun's
rays which will help you stay cooler.

What you wear on your feet is just as important as what you
wear on your body . There are many types of footwear out on
the market today so it is very important to choose the
right one. You want to make sure you have plenty of
cushioning for high impact activities and most importantly
make sure they are comfortable for you. The most important
thing to keep in mind is that you want to be comfortable
when you are working out. Make sure you are comfortable in
your clothes, so that working out will be that much more
comfortable for you.

There might be some of you, who are looking for something a
little more structured and instruction. Not to worry there
is something for you also. Gyms all around the world are
starting to offer dancing classes. Starting off there is
Cardio Salsa. This class if offered at The Crunch gyms
nationwide or you can look for it on DVD. It is a low
impact high intensity workout that combines the hottest
Latin dances such as the cha-cha, mambo, samba and more
with traditional dance steps such as the grapevine, lunges
and arm raises. What women are loving about this workout
is that they can take what they learn on the videos or
classes and take it to a night club if they want to!

Cardio Capoeira is also becoming another popular dance
workout. It was featured briefly on the cool down segments
of the hit exercise video Turbo Jam, but has come out on
its own as a great workout. In fact for fans of the hit
Movie Ocean's 12 might remember it being featured as the
Night Fox dodges the lasers to get to the goods, or you
might remember Catherine Zeta-Jones using a similar dance
in the movie Entrapment. Cardio Capoeira is a basically
a form of martial arts that is disguised as dancing. It
was used to train Brazilian slaves martial arts without
letting their captors know. It requires a lot of kicking,
spinning and even cartwheels. What makes this workout so
powerful especially on your buttocks and quads is the move
the ginga which links one movement to the next so you will
find yourself doing this often.

Cardio Striptease is another dance workout that is sweeping
the nation. There are a number of DVDs out that offer a
cardio striptease workout. This routine is part
burlesque, part yoga, and part gymnastics. There are no
concise steps and the whole point of the routine is to
allow you to move freely and beautifully and learn to
express yourself. You never have to worry about holding
any sort of poses but move from one move to another by
using slow moving hip and butt circles. The aim of this
workout is to tone the hips, buttocks, thighs calves and
abs.

OF course you can always go the more traditional route and
sign up for ballroom dancing classes which will still give
you a great workout. Which ever one of these you choose,
you will burning fat and calories while having a great
time. You won't even know you are exercising, that's how
much fun you will have.

Sports Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury

Sports Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) occurs when the head strikes
or is stuck by an object. The head does not have to
experience an external blow for the brain to be injured.
Brain damage can occur when the head is pushed strongly
against the skull, such as with whiplash.

Concussion is a mild form of TBI from which recovery often
occurs without long term effects unless a person
experiences multiple concussions. Repeated brain injuries
have a cumulative effect resulting in more severe and more
prolonged post-concussion symptoms. A very serious and
dangerous condition or even death can occur if a second
concussion is suffered while symptoms from a previous
concussion still persist. This condition is called
second-impact syndrome (SIS). Sports-Related Concussions '
Causes and Frequency

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC), about 300,000 people experience concussions each
year from sports injuries. Most sports-related concussions
come from contact sports, especially football, boxing,
hockey, and martial arts. Other major causes of a large
number of sports-related concussions are falls or
collisions in sports such as skiing, bicycling, horseback
riding, basketball, and soccer. In soccer an additional
risk for concussions is "heading" the ball.

The most likely population to suffer concussions due to
sports activities are males between the ages of 16 and 25.
Within this group, the risk is highest at the high school
level. About 25 percent of the 300,000 sports-related
concussions reported each year are suffered by high school
students playing contact sports. At the college level, over
one third of football players has suffered a concussion and
about 20 percent have had multiple concussions. Dangers of
Multiple Concussions

Second-impact syndrome (SIS), which is a concussion that
occurs while the victim is still recovering from an earlier
concussion, has resulted in at least 26 deaths in the past
20 years since this condition was first characterized. Most
of these victims were in high school.

While most cases of SIS and multiple concussions do not
cause death, the neuropsychological brain damage they cause
is significant. Many studies have shown that athletes who
have suffered multiple concussions are more likely to have
prolonged learning difficulties and perform more poorly on
neuropsychological tests compared to people who have had
one concussion or no concussions. Some the well-documented
neuropsychological impairments in athletes who have had
multiple concussions are:

* Reduced speed in processing new information

* Problem solving and planning difficulties

* Increased number of headaches

* Concentration difficulties

* Memory impairments

* Behavioral problems

Why Athletes Suffer Multiple Concussions

Factors that contribute to why athletes suffer multiple
concussions are related to the ability to accurately assess
severity and recovery from symptoms. For example, there are
several different scales for rating severity at the time of
the concussion but there is general lack of agreement on
which to use. There is also lack of agreement on what
amount of time should pass before athletes can safely
return to sports. This is because there are not any widely
accepted guidelines for assessing whether the athlete has
recovered. Preventing Traumatic Brain Injury

Using proper protective equipment can prevent many cases of
concussion. Helmets or other appropriate headgear should be
used in contact sports, and in sports for which falling or
colliding are risks (skiing, horseback riding, bicycling).
Custom fitted mouth pieces may also help prevent
concussions in contact sports. To be effective, all
protective equipment should be properly fitted and used for
the purpose in which is was designed.

Although the risk of concussion is inherent in sports
participation, decisions as to what sport to participate in
can help mitigate the risk of concussion. If you are
concerned about a traumatic brain injury sustained while
playing a sport, you may wish to contact an experienced TBI
lawyer. Your traumatic brain injury attorney can help you
assess your potential TBI claim and help you get the
compensation you deserve for the devastation incurred in
traumatic brain injuries.

the Scales of Justice, II

the Scales of Justice, II
Last week I was having lunch with a friend. We were having
a nice meal, chatting about our lives, our kids, and then,
the inevitable comes up (it always does, you know)-food and
weight. But this time it was different, she wasn't talking
about her weight, she was telling me a sad story about a
friend of hers, whom she'd just visited.

This friend, let's call her K, is a large woman, and has
been trying to lose weight for a long time. This fried of
hers had been on many diets, gained and lost, gained and
lost. You know the drill. This time, when my friend was
at her house, though, she knew something good had happened.
K was cheerful, bouncing around, talking happily about her
life- and, most interesting, she had her shirt tucked in.
When asked why she seemed so cheerful (and comfortable with
herself), K said it was because she had recently lost 8
pounds. Ahh, THAT explained the shirt being tucked in. We
all have our "tells"-things we do when we are feeling good
about ourselves. I, personally, wear sleeveless shirts
when I feel confident about my body. Why I think my arms
may be thinner, who knows? But it's my "tell".

And this woman felt good.

My friend and K were having a wonderful time together.
They were laughing, telling jokes, talking about how good
life was, and how they were both doing so well. Later
during the visit, her husband came home. He had been
grocery shopping and began unpacking. After putting away
the food, he went into the bathroom and brought the scale
into the kitchen, where the women were sitting. "Why are
you doing that?" K asked, a small shudder in her voice.
"Because it's broken, it needs new batteries."

Suddenly everything changed. As soon as the batteries were
in place, K grabbed the scale and ran into the bathroom. A
few second later she came out- her whole demeanor changed.
She was now looking down at the ground, her bounce had
disappeared and, more significantly, she had pulled her
shirt out of her pants-it was no longer tucked in. "I
didn't lose any weight", she sadly said, as though she had
committed a crime.

What happened? What happened in those few short seconds
that made such a dramatic change in this woman's whole
sense of self? In those few short seconds, a number on a
scale had torn down K's self confidence. A number on a
scale had been given the power to destroy this woman's self
confidence! She still weighed the same with her shirt
tucked in and her head held high. But a new number, a
larger number, suddenly made her clothes feel tight-by
adding shame to her mind.

Let's hope for a time when scales don't have that kind of
power-when we have enough confidence in our bodies and our
food choices to decide for ourselves how we feel-not some
number on a machine.

How Hoodia Works To Help You Lose Weight

How Hoodia Works To Help You Lose Weight
Hoodia may just about be the most hyped up weight loss
product in human history. That's not to say it doesn't
work, but how many other gadgets and pills have been
featured on CNN and CBS News and have been written about on
Oprah's "O" Magazine and on the BBC?

Not many.

So what is it about Hoodia specifically, that is causing
all this fuss?

Besides its appetite suppressing qualities, it is the fact
that there have been no known side effects in any human
trials yet. This does not mean there will never be side
effects, as Hoodia is only new on to the scene, but there
is more reason to hope that Hoodia will be safe that there
is for any other type of weight loss pill in the same stage
of development. The reason for this lies in where Hoodia
was first discovered as a potential weapon in the fight
against fat.

The species of Hoodia that is causing all the rage is the
Hoodia Gordonii Species that is a native of the Kalahari
Desert in South Africa. Although Hoodia can be grown in
other parts of the world, like China and Mexico, it is only
the South African version that has displayed the appetite
suppressing qualities that is in high demand. It was
thought about for controlling hunger because the native
people of the Kalahari ' the San Bushmen ' have been using
Hoodia for centuries to do just that. They would take
Hoodia before their long hunting trips so that they don't
get hungry. The great thing is that the San Bushmen
continue to use Hoodia today. This does not provide
conclusive proof that it is totally safe, but it does
provide greater hope.

What is known for sure is that there have been positive
results from testing pure Hoodia Gordonii from South Africa
to control hunger, even in the United States. That is why
there has been so much publicity for it, and why its in
such high demand.

Hoodia actually works by stimulating the part of your brain
that controls your hunger. This part is called the
Hypothalamus. When the Hypothalamus is stimulated, it
signals to the rest of your body that you are full, and so
you have no desire to eat. The effects of Hoodia have been
shown to work for up to twenty-four hours after consumption.

There is no doubt that the introduction of Hoodia into
America has been positive on the whole. There are some
definite drawbacks though.

The main issue facing the Hoodia Industry today is that it
is largely unregulated. Combine this with the massive
demand and, before you know it, there are seemingly
hundreds of suppliers of Hoodia. The unfortunate thing
about this is that only a small handful of these suppliers
actually sell the version of Hoodia that works. The rest
are trying to make a quick dollar by cashing in on the
craze.

So before you decide to buy Hoodia, especially from the
internet, it is very important that you do your research.
Find out as much information from independent and trusted
sources as you can. You need to be very picky, remember for
every genuine supplier there are dozens and dozens of
opportunists wanting to get at your hip pocket.

Insider Secrets That Keep Women From Losing Fat and Inches

Insider Secrets That Keep Women From Losing Fat and Inches
When it comes to losing fat, especially belly fat, many
women are making huge mistakes and as a result they are not
getting the results they want.

1. Doing the same exercise routine. Women who do the same
workout over and over without changing it will notice after
awhile it stops producing results and they immediately
become frustrated! To start burning fat again change your
routine around (the sequence in which you perform your
exercises).

2. Doing too much cardio. I find a lot of women do too much
cardio and never get the results they want! One of the
reasons is that doing too much and not eating enough will
slow down your metabolism.

3. Not doing a fat-burning workout. Most women who don't
see results as fast as they want to are not working out
with enough intensity! You don't need to spend hours in
the gym to blast fat. Focus on intensity to where you are
breathing heavy and sweating. Women who participate in a
boot camp program or circuit training can easily accomplish
this type of workout.

4. Doing cardio the wrong way. Reading magazines or talking
on the phone when doing cardio,it becomes a "social hour"
and if you are looking to burn more fat you need to work a
little harder so that holding a conversation is challenging.

5. Not doing any resistance training. Most women will focus
on only cardio and are either afraid to lift weights or
don't realize the incredible fat-burning benefits. Your
metabolism is elevated throughout the day when you weight
train. Whereas with cardio it only stays elevated when you
are doing it and only a few hours after that.

6. Lifting too light. Lifting light and lots of reps is not
going to help you burn more fat, it is the intensity of the
load (with the weights) that you are lifting. Don't be
afraid to challenge your muscles, it will only help you
burn more fat!

7. Having the wrong workout for your body type. If you want
to create a more pleasing look to sculpt your body then you
need to focus on training that body part.

For example, if you have a weak upper body and it does not
match the rest of your body, then your workouts should
focus more on that part first!

8. Not doing cardio at the right times. Most women do
cardio before weight training, which is not the most
effective way to burn fat. The best way to burn more fat is
to do your resistance training first then immediately
follow cardio.

This enables your body to burn more fat efficiently since
it has burned off your glycogen (stored energy), plus you
will have more energy to lift weights.

Arthritis Explained

Arthritis Explained
Arthritis can be grouped into two main categories based
upon the "localized" or "generalized" areas of the body or
joints that are affected and then into sub-categories.

Localized Conditions: The arthritis that affects the soft
tissue surrounding the joints or bones is considered soft
tissue localized conditions, such as bursitis or
tendonitis. Another sub-category of the localized
conditions only affects one or only a few joints, such as a
knee or hip.

Generalized Conditions: The first sub-category for
generalized conditions are for those that affect the muscle
and soft tissue where there is no evidence of swelling or
inflammation. The condition is not associated with joint
damage. Fibromyalgia is a common type of arthritis that is
placed under this category.

The second sub-category of conditions includes arthritis
conditions that involve inflammation that affects the
entire body. Rheumatoid arthritis is an example of a
condition under this category, as well as gout, and
psoriatic arthritis. Other generalized arthritis conditions
are polymyositis (muscles); systemic lupus erythematosus
(skin, kidneys, or other organs); and vasculitis (any
organ).

All arthritis conditions affect the musculoskeletal system
and joints. Arthritis affecting the joint conditions causes
pain, stiffness, inflammation, and damage to the joint
cartilage. Cartilage is the tissue that covers the ends of
the bones that protect them as they rub together. Cartilage
is living tissue. Therefore, it has the same needs as other
organs and glands. Cartilage cells are called chondrocytes.
All chondrocytes will die and are usually replaced by new
cartilage cells. However, over time inflammation can kill
more cartilage cells than the body can replace. This is
especially true if there has been an injury or there is not
enough proper nutrients in the body to repair the joint.
Damage from arthritis can also cause joint weakness,
instability and deformities and interrupt daily activities.
Typically, arthritis is treated with medication, physical
therapy, and changes to the person's lifestyle. Joint
replacement surgery is a last resort after healthcare
providers have tried other less intrusive interventions to
relieve the discomfort.

A person can have more than one type of arthritis.
Arthritis includes more than 100 medical conditions that
affect approximately 46 million adults and 300,000 children
in the United States. Arthritis can start as early as
infancy, while it is most common among adults over 60,
primarily in the form of osteoarthritis. As the American
population ages, the number of people with arthritis is
increasing. Arthritis and related illnesses are the cause
of major disability in the U.S. and costs over $124 billion
a year in medical care and indirect expenses. Individuals
can help prevent osteoarthritis by following a few simple
steps:

-Maintain appropriate weight

-Consume fresh fruits and vegetables as a good
source of vitamins c and d

-Make sure you are getting enough calcium (adults:
1000-1500mg per day)

-Exercise

-Avoid sports injuries
