Keep Your Fat Weight Off

Okay so you have tried diet pills, expensive diet plans,
exercising, low-carb diets, and everything else imaginable
to loose the weight. Finally you are at the weight that you
feel comfortable with and then a month goes by and you are
right back where you started. This is the trickiest part to
dieting, they never tell you how to keep the weight off.
Well here is six steps you can do to help lose weight and
then maintain it.

First- Get Active and Stay Active. Once you develop a
healthy exercise routine that works your whole body keep
with it. This can be as simple as walking everyday, playing
an active sport that you love, or hitting the gym to lift
weights and get a good cardio workout The key is that you
continue exercising when you reach that desired weight.

Second- Eat a diet low in calories and fat. Many people
don't pay attention to how many calories and fats they are
consuming each day. Keep a record for one week of the foods
you eat and how many calories and fats are in these foods.
Then reduce that number. Look for snacks that are low in
calories and fats. Fruits and Vegetables are wonderful.
Also limit yourself from eating fast food to only once a
week.

Third- Don't skip breakfast. Our moms always told us that
breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This
doesn't mean you have to eat eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes,
milk, and juice everyday. Something as simple as a bowl of
cereal and a piece of fruit will benefit you greatly.
Breakfast helps get your metabolism started each day. With
your metabolism working your body is able to burn more fat
during the day. Breakfast also helps control your hunger
throughout the day so in turn you eat less and at more
consistent intervals.

Fourth- Hit the scales. I know it is hard to watch your
weight on a daily basis. But if you are checking in to see
what your body is doing throughout the week you can catch
when you are gaining a couple pounds and then adjust your
diet accordingly.

Fifth- Maintain a consistent eating pattern. Many people
do wonderful on a diet during the workweek. Then a weekend
hits or worst a holiday and all eating patterns go out the
window. Try and continue eating around the same time and
the same amount of food as you would if it was a normal
day. This might be difficult but it will help your body
maintain the weight. You can still eat the fun things that
come with the holidays but in moderation.

Sixth- Catch the "slips" before they become bigger. If you
happen to gain a couple pounds make sure to correct your
diet and exercise right way. It is easier it to get back on
track when things are little.

Now you can get the weight off and keep it off without
anything to fancy and expensive!

Flu herbs

During viral infections like the common cold and influenza
the virus gets attached to the cells of the mucous
membranes in the respiratory tract and destroys cells,
causing cold and flu conditions. Flu herbs can strengthen
the immune system by producing antibodies which neutralize
toxicity of foreign cells. There are many flu herbs which
protect from the common cold and flu.

Cats claw is a multipurpose herb that treats asthma,
inflammations of the urinary tract, arthritis, rheumatism,
and bone pain. It is a cleanser herb for the kidney. Women
used it to recover from childbirth. Also, it was used to
cure deep wounds; inflammation and gastric ulcers. It is
now used as a cure against viral diseases also. Cats claw
(Uncaria tomentosa) is a large, woody vine that derives its
name from hook-like thorns that grow along the vine and
resemble the claws of a cat. It can reach over 30 m high
into the canopy and has small, yellowish-white flowers.
Cats claw is found in Amazon rainforest, and South and
Central America, in the countries of Peru, Ecuador,
Colombia, Guyana, Venezuela, Trinidad, Guatemala, Suriname,
Costa Rica, and Panama.

Pau darco is a herb derived from the inner bark of the
Tabebuia Avellanedae/Tabebuia Impetiginosa (Taheebo) tree
in South America. Its tea has been used for cancer
victims. Lapachol is a chemical derived from pau darco, is
active against viral diseases, is effective against the
malarial parasite, inhibits herpes simplex, and restricts
the virus that causes cold sores. Low doses of pau darco
chemicals activate the immune system.

Jergon sacha is found in the Amazon forest, and in the
rainforests of Brazil, Suriname, and Guyana, Peru,
Colombia, and Ecuador rainforests. The juice of the fresh
rhizomes of Jergon sacha is used as an antidote for spider
bites, and for wounds of poisonous dart and arrow. The
powdered tuberous rhizome of Jergon sacha is used orally to
treat asthma, menstrual disorders, and whooping cough. The
root powder of Jergon sacha is used for scabies. The
decoction made out of the whole plant of Jergon sacha is
put in baths for gout. It is also fancied as treatment for
HIV/AIDS, cancerous tumors, gastrointestinal problems,
hernias, hand tremors, heart palpitations, and enhancement
of immune function.

Echinacea is one of the popular flu herbs in activating the
immune system. It can be taken before an aliment happens,
in anticipation. Ginseng is another one of the popular flu
herbs to increase resistance to stress and disease along
with improved energy and stamina. The herb Hyssop can be
used as a tea which heals bronchitis and loosens phlegm
(thereby removing congestion, coughs, and hoarseness).
Garlic is a pungent herb with anti-bacterial properties
that helps the immune system to fight infection. Onion has
similar properties as Garlic and should be cooked with food
during cold attacks. Ginger contains a dozen antiviral
compounds, relieves pain, prevents and treats colds, sore
throats and inflammation of mucus membranes. Peppermint
treats bronchitis, colds and flu and reduces fevers by
inducing sweating which cools the body. It works as a
decongestant clearing blocked sinuses. Herbs like Lemon
Balm tea promotes sweating and eliminates the toxins from
the body. Catnip is good for feverish colds and the flu.
Fenugreek eases coughs and sore throats. Juniper relieves
coughs and flu is its steam after it is boiled with water
is inhaled.

An Overview Of Herpes

Herpes is, essentially, the name given to a viral
infection. The virus that causes the infection is called
Herpes Simplex Virus. Herpes Simplex Virus comes in
different forms, but its main variations are Herpes Simplex
Virus 1 (HSV 1) and Herpes Simplex Virus 2 (HSV 2). Beyond
the common cold, herpes is likely the most common viral
infection in existence.

The symptoms of an HSV 1 infection are typically referred
to as cold sores -- sometimes fever blisters, sometimes
oral blisters, and there are other descriptions as well.
When symptoms occur -- they don't always -- HSV 1 infection
results in an outbreak of blisters about the face, and
typically about the mouth. HSV 1 infection is exceptionally
common: up to ninety percent of people are infected with
HSV 1, though not everyone infected with HSV 1 present
symptoms.

The symptoms of an HSV 2 infection are typically referred
to as genital herpes. Roughly twenty percent of adults are
infected with HSV 2, but symptom recognition is very low:
only twenty percent of people, give or take, infected with
HSV 2 are aware of their status. When HSV 2 symptoms
appear, they usually appear in the area of the genitals.
HSV 2 infection is classified as an STD.

As a rule, HSV 1 and HSV 2 infection present in different
parts of the body. HSV 1 appears above the waist, and most
often above the neck. It is possible for HSV 1 to occur
below the waist: this is rare, but it does happen. HSV 2's
infection region is below the waist, and most usually
around the genitals. When HSV 1 or HSV 2 happens outside of
their respective infection regions, symptoms, should they
occur, are typically less severe and less frequent.

All HSV infections spread through direct skin-to-skin
contact, and when HSV symptoms appear they affect the skin,
usually through blistering. There's some belief that HSV
infection can be passed from secondary objects -- a public
utility, a towel, a glass, etc. -- but the evidence doesn't
support this. Direct skin-to-skin contact is the rule for
passing, or acquiring, an HSV infection.

A bit of an exception to HSV's skin-to-skin infection rule
is ocular herpes. Ocular herpes is a herpes infection of
the eye(s). Ocular herpes is typically spread from some
form mouth to eye transmission: going to the mouth, where
an HSV infection is found, and then going to the eye and
transferring the HSV infection there. Ocular herpes can be
a quite serious condition that may affect sight.

The official thinking on an HSV infection is that it is
permanent: the general consensus is that HSV resides
permanently in the body, cleverly hidden from the body's
defenses. This having been said, there are some HSV
treatments that claim to eliminate HSV from the body, or to
permanently end HSV symptomatic outbreaks.

Myths From The Weight Loss Hawks

Myth: You will do fine with a high protein/low-carb diet

Fact: This kind of diet looks to get most of the daily
required amount of calories from protein foods, such as
dairy products and meats, and a very small portion taken
from foods that have a lot of carbs, i.e. potatoes, fruits,
pasta, and bread. The main problem with this kind of diet
is that many of the most common foods that people like to
eat are excluded, which makes it easy for this kind of
dieter to get bored or frustrated. When boredom and
frustration take their toll, the end of the diet is usually
close behind. Another problem with this diet is that the
carbohydrates recommended usually lack in essential
nutrients, while advocating that the dieter eat cheese and
bacon which will raise cholesterol levels.

What it all comes down to is that high protein/low-carb
diets result in fast weight loss in some people, but it
isn't just fat that is lost. People lose some of their lean
muscle mass as well, and a lot of water, as the kidneys now
need to work harder to excrete the extra waste that is
coming in from fat and protein. The stress added to your
kidneys is not healthy at all and, in the long run, leads
to dehydration, headaches, feelings of dizziness and
nausea. Before starting a long-term diet, you would do well
to discuss it with your doctor. If you are really set on
dieting, try a balanced diet first, because it will help
you lose weight without hurting your bodily systems.

Myth: Permanent weight loss can be achieved with fad diets.

Fact: This is another common myth among the weight loss
hawks. Like any other diet that tells you to cut this or
that from your daily meals, fad diets are not healthy for
you. The cornerstone of any diet is getting the body
supplied with all the calories, proteins, and minerals it
needs. Diets that cut out foods without regard for your
body's needs cannot be healthy for you. Fad diets fail to
deliver on the promise of permanent weight loss because
people will always crave the foods they are not supposed to
be eating and will always end up breaking the rules and the
diet itself.

The key to making weight loss permanent is more exercise
and avoiding food that makes you fat without nourishing
your body. It has been confirmed through extensive studies
about the importance of exercise and a well-balanced diet.

Myth: Low-fat or fat-free food is always a good choice.

Fact: The only low fat foods that are also low in calories
are fruits. The rest of the huge low-fat or non-fat group
are not a safe choice if you are dieting. These products
may have added sugar, starch or flour to make them taste
better, which means extra calories that do not belong into
your diet. So make sure you carefully check the list of
ingredients on packages whenever you decide to buy low-fat
or fat-free products.

Myth: Switching to vegetarian foods will help you lose
weight and stay healthy.

Fact: I know this is a hard pill to swallow, but no food
plan will work for you unless you take charge of your
eating and make sure that everything that goes down your
throat is the right kind of food. The key here is to be
absolutely sure that the vegetarian diet will give your
body all the nutrients and calories it needs. Eating loads
of foods that do nothing for you from a nutritional
perspective, outside of filling your stomach maybe, can
bring you a lot of trouble down the road.

Since plants tend to have a lower concentration of
nutrients than meat, you will have to eat more food than
before to make up for this difference. Not to mention that
a strictly vegetarian diet will not get you enough vitamin
B12, vitamin D, iron, calcium and zinc. These vitamins and
minerals are taken mostly from dairy products and eggs in a
regular diet, but true vegetarians can't touch those.
You'll have to rely on the few and uncommon vegetables that
can provide these substances.

Myth: Dairy products make you fat and cause heart problems.

Fact: Thanks to modern medicine, everybody knows that
eating a lot of dairy products is a surefire path to high
blood pressure and stroke, although a large group of French
people refuse to die, despite the large quantities of
cheese and wine they consume.

Dairy products are the main source of calcium that keeps
your bones strong and healthy. It is absolutely critical
for children and can not at all be overlooked by adults.
Dairy products also contain vitamin D, which is crucial to
maintaining the normal levels of calcium and phosphorus in
your bloodstream.

If you want to avoid gaining weight from dairy products,
choose low-fat or non-fat brands. There are enough of those
around. If you are lactose-intolerant, drink soy or rice
milk and eat lactose-free cheeses. Soy milk does not taste
exactly the same as regular milk, but it's still good and
nutritious. The fat-free and lactose-free cheese taste will
probably go unnoticed, or atleast eventually, since you are
usally eating it with something else anyway.

Butter and margarine are the only dairy products you should
worry about. These absolutely have large levels of fat,
saturated and trans fat included. Still, if you must eat
these, at the very least, choose the butter over the
margarine. Margarine is an over-processed fat that is not
at all good for you. Butter may be somewhat fattier in
content, but it's definitely the healthier of the two.

Massage & Massage Therapy: No Longer a Guilty Pleasure

Pick a lifestyle any lifestyle, go ahead, I won't peek!
Without knowing who you are or where you live and without
knowing another single fact about you, I'm prepared to
wager that for you, there just aren't enough hours in the
day, whatever your circumstances are.

Again, I'll wager that you have too much to do and not
nearly enough time to do it in. OK, it doesn't take a
rocket scientist to work that one out because I know I've
chosen a very popular theme, one that affects, well… almost
everyone.

Between work commitments and family commitments, it's
incredibly easy to lose yourself and your own identity in
the pursuit of looking after others.

Allow yourself to imagine, just for a minute, that you pay
the same attention to your own needs that you do for
others. If you really gave this a go, you would quickly see
a brighter picture. You may not be immediately aware of the
benefits, but trust me, setting aside a little time for
yourself has benefits you just wouldn't believe.

No excuse is needed to take care of YOU, the most important
person in your life. The change doesn't have to be radical,
start small and begin with something as simple as setting
aside some time just for you. If your life has been one
long exercise in looking after everyone else's needs, then
even spending some quiet time alone will carry some guilt,
but stay focused and remember, all you are trying to do is
redress the balance.

Consider something totally new, consider a manicure or a
pedicure, or do yourself a huge favour and consider having
a massage. Whatever you decide, just turn a little
attention back to you. If having a massage seems too much
of a luxury, think again. Massage and massage therapy is no
longer an activity reserved for the wealthy and the
benefits of massage go way beyond the physical.

If the thought of a full body massage scares the life out
of you, start with the most uplifting and rewarding massage
of all, a facial. A facial massage if something you could
do for yourself, with your own hands in the comfort and
privacy of your own home, and as a taste of what is
possible, it shouldn't be too difficult to justify. (to
yourself!)

Your hands are a masterpiece of design and they're an
evolutionary triumph. It would be a shame not to use them.
Your own hands have an intimate knowledge of the face that
you display to the world.

For most of us, putting ourselves first is an unthinkable
luxury which is an idea that is quickly discarded. My
advice is not to be too hasty. Don't beat yourself for
putting yourself first. It'll put you in a much better
position to help and coach others.

Have a good think about massage though because if you look
great there's more than a good chance that you'll feel
great too and from there, the possibilities are endless.

In the meantime I wish you continued outstanding health.

How to Choose The Best Weight Loss Program

You have tried losing weight on your own and you have even
had some success. But life is hectic and stressful and in
time, the pounds always creep back. Now you weigh more
than you did a year ago.

This is discouraging and depressing and like many others
you might be thinking that you just can't face another diet
alone. When you were at the end of your rope did you ever
consider the support of a formal weight loss program?

For many, this is a good idea. By having professional
guidance and an organization as your "buddy" you have a
much better chance of success.

BUT BE CAREFUL! Not all programs are created equal. If
you want to choose wisely, here are six questions you
should ask.

1. DOES THE PROGRAM EMPHASIZE OVERALL FITNESS AND GOOD
HEALTH? If the advertising emphasizes dramatic before and
after photos with claims of the ease and speed of pounds
lost per week, beware. Average weight loss during an
extended program should not exceed two pounds per week.
This is equal to fifty pounds in six months or one hundred
pounds a year. Is the goal of the program to achieve a
normal bodyweight as the natural result of a balanced
lifestyle that promotes health and fitness?

2. IS THE MEAL PLAN PALATABLE AND NUTRITIOUS AND AVAILABLE
AT YOUR LOCAL GROCERY? Your first consideration is that
the meals on a plan include a variety of tasty foods that
supply all the nutrients necessary for long-term health.
This eliminates menus that prohibit entire categories of
food or limit portions to the point that you are always
hungry. Some plans "do it for you" by providing prepared
meals and snacks to manage what and how much you eat. This
is easy and effective (and expensive) but your success is
dependent upon the prepared meals. How long do you plan to
buy prepackaged food? What happens when you start shopping
and cooking for yourself and return to eating out? See
number three below.

3. IS THE PROGRAM BASED ON LEARNING HOW TO CHANGE DIETARY
AND LIFESTYLE HABITS? Lifestyle behaviors can be
"relearned" and this should be the backbone of any good
program. This is the only way that you will become
permanently lean, fit and healthy. This is the only way
that you can walk away, free of the oppressive burden of
lifetime, yo-yo dieting.

4. WILL YOU LEARN HOW TO DEAL WITH SITUATIONS THAT CAUSE
YOU TO BACKSLIDE? Will you have live support when the going
gets tough? Will you learn strategies to deal with
lifestyle saboteurs when they arrive to ruin your plans?

5. IS EXERCISE A PART OF THE PROGRAM? Exercise is an
indispensable part of a balanced fitness plan. Exercise
provides a big metabolic boost to losing weight and
simultaneously reduces stress and elevates your mood.
Equally important however, is that exercise prevents the
loss of lean muscle mass during periods of reduced caloric
intake and is also critical for long-term weight
maintenance. See number six below.

6. ARE THERE FOLLOW-UP PLANS TO HELP YOU KEEP THE WEIGHT
OFF PERMANENTLY? People experience different learning
curves when it comes to changing their lifestyle. No
matter how effective a plan is over the short-term, you
have wasted your time, effort and money if you have to
start from the beginning over and over again. Make sure
that the plan you choose emphasizes permanent weight loss
and has a system to support your efforts until you are
comfortable going it alone.

Deep Acne Scars: How to find the best dermal filler to correct depressed acne scarring

Softening deep acne scars resulting from severe bouts of
cystic or nodular lesions requires a well thought out
cosmetic corrective plan. And according to reports in
Dermatologic Surgery, popularized scar removal options like
laser resurfacing may not satisfactorily smooth away deep
acne scars. Yet, patients can readily witness scar depth
reductions in indented acne scaring using aesthetic
therapies such as dermal fillers.

Silicon based dermal fillers

In a 30-year perspective study of using dermal fillers to
correct acne scars, doctors Jay Barnett and Channing
Barnett deemed medical-grade liquid silicone the only
filler substance that permanently and precisely corrects
acne scars. During their investigation, the researchers
reviewed the lives of five patients with a history of acne
scarring. Each patient showed improvements from injections
of liquid silicone at the initial treatment session and at
10-, 15-, and 30-year follow-up sessions.

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers

Even though silicon based dermal fillers work, heavily
marketed fillers made of hyaluronic acid also present a
potential deep acne scarring corrective. While the results
from dermal fillers can prove pleasantly dramatic, in the
case of hyaluronic acid, the enhancements may only last six
months. Moreover, most Food and Drug Administration
approved dermal fillers like Perlane have only been tested
on and prescribed for correction of nasal labial folds, not
acne scars that can arise on multiple areas of the face.

Calcium-based dermal fillers

In a study published in the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser
Therapy, investigators tested a dermal filler composed of
calcium hydroxylapatite to treat acne scars. Researchers
used the filler to correct both round or saucerized acne
scars, and deep acne scars with a sharp triangular shaped
called "ice-pick" scars. After administering the dermal
filler to ten patients with various types of acne scarring,
the investigators found that only saucerized acne scars
responded well to the treatment. Scarring improvements
lasted up to twelve months in some volunteers.

How to select a dermal filler

While dermal fillers offer dazzling results, they aren't
cheap. And typically, the longer the filler lasts, the more
expensive the treatment. Dermal injections can run from
$300 to $2000 for treated area so plan to spend smartly.
Moreover, a dermal injection is only as aesthetically
beautiful as the professional delivering the shot.

When seeking a dermal injection, seek a professional
possessing experience with correcting deep acne scars with
dermal fillers. Finally, when using a dermal injection,
make certain that you have your acne outbreaks under
control because dermal injections are contraindicated for
facial areas experiencing pain or inflammation, including
pimples.

Relieve Depression Naturally

Depression is a mood disorder that ranges from mild to
severe. All of us have experienced a form of depression at
some time in our lives. It can accompany loss, stress,
unresolved anger, fear, shame, disappointment and other
emotional dynamics that are a part of our life situation.
Depression is experienced by children, adults, and elderly
regardless of economic status, gender, or culture.
Depression affects physical health, relationships,
awareness, weight, memory, decision making ability, energy
level, interest, and sleep. In addition to emotional
experience, depression can result from diet, nutrition, and
other physical biochemical origins.

In severe, special cases of depression associated with
extreme mental disorder, synthetic, chemical based drugs
called antidepressants are required and necessary for
relief of depression. However, most of us do not fall into
this category and too often these synthetic antidepressants
are prescribed for us who suffer from common daily
disappointments in our lives. For most common experiences
of depression, antidepressants are not often necessary.
Synthetic Antidepressants have been known to have some
harmful side effects, prompting the FDA to recommend that
manufacturers add this warning label to their products:
"Antidepressants increased the risk of suicidal thinking
and behavior (suicidality) in short-term studies in
children and adolescents with Major Depressive Disorder
(MDD) and other psychiatric disorders. Anyone considering
the use of {insert established name} or any other
antidepressant in a child or adolescent must balance this
risk with the clinical need. Patients who are started on
therapy should be observed closely for clinical worsening,
suicidalty, or unusual changes in behavior".

This is not to suggest that ignoring the feelings of
depression will make the feelings go away. Since depression
can have physical biochemical origin and depression from
emotional stress can cause biochemical change in the body,
it would follow that common, not severe, depression would
respond to clinically proven all natural remedies as
vitamins, herbs, supplements, minerals, amino acids,
aromatherapy, and all natural formulas designed to relieve
the pain of depression. Other treatments e.g.
psychotherapy, exercise, acupuncture, yoga, meditation also
aid in the natural relief of depression.

Deficiencies in vitamins and minerals can trigger
depression as well as depression decreasing the
availability of vitamins and minerals essential for the
maintaining our body's health. These vitamins and minerals
include vitamin B6, folic acid, vitamin B12, vitamin C,
magnesium, calcium and trace minerals. Supplementing our
bodies with these vitamins and minerals can relieve and
perhaps prevent depression as well as greatly improving our
health generally.

Adding amino acids to our diets can go a long way in
relieving depression and promoting general health. For
example, SAMe (S-Adensoyl-L-Methionine) is an amino acid
that can be found in all cells of our body. It is a natural
antidepressant that has additional value of protecting the
liver and cardiovascular system, synthesis of natural
melatonin that assists sleeping well. Phenylalanine is
another amino acid that makes the neurotransmitter, i.e.
substance that conducts messages to and within the brain,
norepinephrine. Norepinephrine is diminished in the brains
of people who are depressed. The amino acid L-Theanine
naturally reduces anxiety associated with depression and is
not addictive or habit forming. Another amino acid that
naturally relieves depression and stimulates alertness is
L-Tyrosine.

5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophane) is a naturally occurs in our
bodies and helps the production of the neurotransmitter
serotonin. Adequate amounts of serotonin is vital for a
feeling and sense of emotional well being. 5-HTP can cross
the blood brain barrier which makes it unique in the
facilitation of serotonin. 5-HTP has gained a great
reputation in the natural treatment of insomnia, depression
and obesity.

For many people who suffer common depression, a effectively
created herbal formula is very beneficial for the natural
relief of depression. St. John's wort (hypericum
perforaturn), commonly referred to as "Nature's Prozac",
helps naturally relieve mild or moderate depression,
stress, anxiety, and tension. Gingo biloba is used as an
alternative treatment for moderate depression in elderly
people because depression is an early sign of cognitive
decline or cerebrovascular deficiency. Valerian root has a
natural calming effect for anxiety and depression.
Passionflower is an efficient natural sedative for calming
and sleeping well. Black Cohosh, used by early Native
Americans, soothes the body and reduces spasm. These are
just a few of the examples of herbs and herbal formula that
treat moderate depression effectively and naturally.

Hormonal imbalance can lead to moderate depression. A
common treatment is natural progesterone for women. Other
natural substances help balance hormones e.g. flax oil,
black cohosh, dimpro, promensil, essential fatty acids, red
clover, virtex berry and many other naturally derived
supplements.

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils and other natural
aromatic compounds from plants to effect emotional and
physical health The oils are referred to as "essential"
because they are the "essence" of the plant. Olfactory
sense has a powerful effect on our emotional and physical
health. Aromatherapy can be used to alter mood, inspire
confidence, ease moderate depression, and increase
energetic feeling. In some nations essential oils are used
for their antiseptic qualities to treat infection. In
France, many aromatherapy essential oils are perceived in a
similar way as prescription drugs are in the United States.
Aromatherapy comes in many forms, e.g. essential oil,
mists, sticks, candles, infusions, massage creams and oils,
mineral bath formulas, and absolutes.

One on the most popular aromatherapy aromas is lavender.
Lavender essential oil has a calming scent which makes it
an excellent tonic for the nerves and helps in treating
migraines, headaches, anxiety, depression, nervous tension
and emotional stress. Its refreshing aroma removes nervous
exhaustion and restlessness and increases mental activity.
Lavender essential oil induces sleep and hence it is often
recommended for insomnia. Lavender essential oil is also an
excellent remedy for various types of pains including those
caused by sore muscles, tense muscles, muscular aches,
rheumatism, sprains, backache and lumbago.

In summary, many of us suffer mild to moderate depression
for a variety of reasons. Our experience of depression is
not so severe or of long duration to justify the use of
powerful synthetic prescription drugs or antidepressant
drugs with their potential of hazardous, harmful physical
and behavioral side effects. We have available to us, a
vast variety of effective, efficient, all natural vitamins,
minerals, herbs, amino acids, aromatherapy, hormonal
balancers, and other safe natural modalities for relieving
mild to moderate depression.
