Picking The Right Vitamin

Picking The Right Vitamin
We all know that the nutrition that we get in our food
today can be deficient in the vitamins and minerals we
need. So over 88% of people in the entire world take some
form of Nutritional Supplement on a daily basis. You can
go into almost any store and see vitamins and there are
even vitamin stores with shelves and shelves of vitamins.
With so many different kinds of nutritional supplements
available on the market today one can find it difficult in
choosing what to take. You have to choose what vitamins,
what brand, what dosage, what about the cost difference,
what about the different formulations.

A person can easily spend $100 a month and end up taking
over 10 different pills a day and you might not be getting
what you think you are. Did you read the label carefully
was the serving size 1,2,or even 3 capsules? Most likely
you were supposed to take more then 1 capsule for a serving
size, so that bottle that has 90 pills will not last 3
months like you thought. Why do you need to take more then
1 pill? As much as 80% of a pill can be fillers, binders,
chelating agents and film coatings, leaving very little
room for the actual active ingredient.

A high quality liquid multivitamin can take care of that
problem. You do not have to worry about how many pills you
need to take and how I am going to swallow all those pills
today. You can get all the vitamins, minerals, fruit,
vegetable and plant extracts you need in one serving of a
high quality liquid multivitamin.

Liquid vitamins have advantages over pills and capsules.
Liquid minerals can get assimilated in as quick as 3
minutes while capsules can take 3 to 5 hours. Another
problem with capsules is that there are some vitamins that
your body can not absorb in this form so you are just
wasting your money as they get flushed out of your system.
You are also paying for all those fillers and binders which
raise the cost of vitamins.

Some people will tell you that you do not need to take
supplemental vitamins and minerals, that we get all we
need in our fruits and vegetables. This is not true for
several reasons. Fruits and vegetables used to be picked
and used within a day or two, but not today. Today they
get picked and then travel across country and then gets
stored on shelves in stores, each day that passes most
fruits and vegetables start losing nutritional content.
Then when we bring home that food we cook it and again more
nutritional value gets lost. Plus how many of us today get
the recommended daily servings of fruits and vegetables.
Nutritional supplements are a must in todays society.

The next time you are going to buy nutritional supplements
look for a high quality liquid multivitamin. You can get
all you need in one bottle, saving you time and money. No
longer will you have to worry about how many of each
vitamin you need to take or if you can get all the pills
down. Not to mention having to open all those different
bottles. Plus you will not have to spend hours trying to
figure out what to take. Trying to decipher between brands
and types of vitamin on store shelves can be a nightmare.
Not to mention the savings on the environment by using only
1 bottle instead of 3 or 4.

Gum Disease Associated with Heart Attacks

Gum Disease Associated with Heart Attacks
Recent studies have proven that there is an increase in a
risk for heart disease in those patients who have
periodontal gum disease. The most common strain of bacteria
found in dental plaque may cause blood clots. Once these
clots escape into the bloodstream, there's an increased
risk for a heart attack.

If you have receding gums or notice a bleeding gum that is
often red and irritated, and if you've noticed that your
breath is bad, you may have a gum infection.

According to the American Academy of Periodontology, there
are several theories that explain the link between
periodontal and heart disease. One theory is that oral
bacteria can affect the heart when they enter the blood
stream, attaching to fatty plaques in the coronary arteries
(heart blood vessels) and contributing to clot formation.
Coronary artery disease is characterized by a thickening of
the walls of the coronary arteries due to the buildup of
fatty proteins. Blood clots can obstruct normal blood flow,
restricting the amount of nutrients and oxygen required for
the heart to function properly. This may lead to heart
attacks.

In fact, periodontal disease may increase your risk for
other health concerns including a weakened immune system,
diabetes, stroke, lung and respiratory disease, preterm,
osteoporosis and even low birth babies. Some of these can
be life threatening.

How do you know if you have periodontal disease? Your gums
bleed when you brush your teeth. And are swollen, red and
tender. Other signs are when your gums are pulling away
from your teeth, or permanent teeth become loose or
separate. And if you have persistent bad breath. People
with periodontal disease have an infection that causes
chronic inflammation of the gums. This is a path for these
bacteria to enter the bloodstream.

Unlike other diseases that have early warning signs, gum
disease progresses silently, and often without pain. More
than half of all people over 18 have at least the early
stages of periodontal disease, and the numbers increase to
three out of four people who are over 35. The worse part is
that it not only destroys the gum surrounding your teeth,
but the supporting bone that holds your teeth in place. If
there are pockets or spaces between your gums and teeth,
your dentist may suggest a course of treatment that will
help stop further damage to your gums and bones.

One Beverly Hills dentist recommends periodontal disease
treatment that includes regular appointments with your
dental team to make sure there's no plaque build-up. You
should also attack plaque on a daily basis by using a
one-step powered tooth brush.

According to the Swedish Dental Journal, it helps remove
plaque bacteria twice as fast as a manual brush.

How Hoodia Affects Your Metabolism Rate

How Hoodia Affects Your Metabolism Rate
If you are one of many who are using a pure source of
Hoodia, you know first hand how powerful it is. Initial
trials indicate that it can make you feel full for up to
twenty-four hours. Some studies have shown that people who
have used pure Hoodia have drastically reduce the amount of
calories they take in on a daily basis by up to 1,000
calories a day within 15 days or so.

On the face of it, statistics like that definitely cause
anyone who wants to lose weight to take notice. The thought
of popping a pill, then enjoying the weight loss happen
before their eyes seems almost too good to be true. If you
look at the science behind how your body works, you will
see that, unfortunately, it is too good to be true long
term.

The reason behind this is all because of something called
your starvation response. As a human being this is a built
in function of your body. Everyone has one.

Let me explain this in a little more detail for you:

Before you take your Hoodia, your body becomes used to a
certain level of calories that you take on a daily basis.
These calories are basically made up of the calories in the
food you take, less the calories your body burns throughout
the day, whether it is from running its natural processes,
or from any sort of exercise you do.

When you suddenly decrease the amount of calories you
consume, your body notes it. Initially it may not react,
thinking it is just a one-off. That's why you will start to
lose weight in the first few weeks.

But your body is smart. It starts to adapt to the
circumstances it faces. Because the circumstances for its
survival have changed, it starts to change with it.

For example, back, many thousand of years ago, when we were
hunter/gathers, this was the key to survival. You may hunt
down a big animal, be able to feast on it for a day or two,
even a week, but then have nothing substantial for days on
end while you went hunting for the next kill.

When your body finds itself deprived of nutrients for an
extended period of time, it slows down the burning of the
nutrients and calories that it does have. It does this to
give yourself the greatest chance of survival, until your
next meal.

The rate at which your body burns calories is commonly
called your metabolism rate. The slower your metabolism
rate, the slower your body burns the stored calories you
have (including fat). As your metabolism rate decreases,
your body utilizes less of the calories you do take in, and
stores more of it as fat.

By having an extremely low metabolism rate, our forefathers
(the hunter/gatherers) were able to survive for days
without eating. Their bodies were used to going into what's
called 'survival mode' or coping with the 'starvation
response' (as I mentioned above).

So the lower your metabolism, the more calories you will
store (including more fat cells), and the fewer calories
you'll burn off, no matter what activity you do.

So now, let us bring this back to taking Hoodia and how it
affects your metabolism rate.

I hope you see here that Hoodia is going to decrease your
metabolism rate, the better it works. That's because it
causes you to feel full, and so, you will most probably
decrease the amount of calories you eat on a daily basis.
When you do this, your body automatically responds by
lowering your metabolism rate. So if you even eat a little
bit over your new daily calorie level in the future, you
will put the weight on far quicker than you lost it. That's
a big negative.

So when you do decide to take Hoodia or any other weight
loss supplement make sure you understand how it works, and
how that will affect your body. You want to make healthy,
effective changes that will give you a long term impact.

Acne Home Remedies: Discover Some All Natural Solutions To Get Rid Of Your Acne

Acne Home Remedies: Discover Some All Natural Solutions To Get Rid Of Your Acne
There are many different approaches to curing acne and they
all have worked at some level for many that have tried
them. A lot of acne sufferers are now turning to all
natural acne treatments to try to stop their acne from
coming back. There are now many different acne home
remedies that you can try to help eliminate your zits.

These treatments are usually completely natural and many of
them involve using common foods so the side effects from
these kinds of treatments tend to be minimal.

Make sure that you do not have any allergies to any of the
treatments discussed below and you may even want to consult
a doctor to ensure that they are safe for you. This is
particularly important if you are on medications.

However for most people these natural remedies should be
just fine for them to use. Here are a few acne remedies
that you can make yourself that have worked for many so
give them a shot as they may work for you too. It is also a
great idea to try to use organic ingredients whenever you
can because they contain less chemicals such as pesticides
and herbicides which may aggravate your acne condition.

- Apply oatmeal to the face

Oatmeal has a ton of nutrients that can be great for the
skin. You need to cook the oatmeal first, let it cool and
then apply a thin layer to your face. Let it sit for 30 to
45 minutes and then rinse off.

- Avocados

Take a couple of avocados and make a paste with them by
adding a little water. Apply this to your face and then
wash off. Use this as a cleanser to help get rid of dirt
and oil without over drying your skin since avocados are
rich in oils themselves so your skin will get nourished in
the process too.

- Lemon Juice

Lemons are used commonly in many cleaning products and they
can be a great product to clean the skin on your face too.
Take a cotton ball and add a few drops of freshly squeezed
lemon juice and then gently rub the skin on your face to
remove dirt and oil.

- Lettuce

Take a few lettuce leaves in a bowl and then add water to
them. Leave for about 15 to 20 minutes to let the water get
saturated with the lettuce. Then take the water and rinse
your face with it.

- Apple cider vinegar

Use apple cider vinegar to clean your face by applying a
little to a cotton ball and then gently rubbing your face
to remove dirt and oil buildup. This may feel a little
uncomfortable because apple cider vinegar is acidic so it
may sting. Use this on a small area of your face first and
see if you can tolerate it otherwise use some of the other
options like avocados as they should not sting as much.

- Carrot juice

Drink freshly squeezed carrot juice to help give your body
a surge of nutrients that can help it to heal your acne
from the inside out. Often acne results from a poor diet
lacking in nutrients so drinking fresh juices can be very
beneficial. Consider getting a juicer of your own and
making your own freshly squeezed juices rather than using
the store bought kinds that usually contain lots of
chemical additives.

Acne is indeed a difficult problem to deal with and
sometimes finding a solution can take time so it is
important to be patient. Try a couple of these treatments
first and do them for at least a few weeks in order to give
them a chance to work. Keep an open mind and consider new
acne treatment options because the next thing you try could
solve your acne problems permanently.

Supplements are no shortcuts to muscle gain

Supplements are no shortcuts to muscle gain
Recently I read a book on goal setting, and it had some
important insights I wanted to share with you. The author
provided many tips on setting a goal properly, including
writing it down on paper, breaking it into smaller chunks,
and identifying the obstacles that you'll need to overcome
to reach the goal. However, one concept that stuck with me
was the emphasis on long-term achievements instead of short
term gains. I realize that so many times in my own life
I've been focusing on the immediate returns I might gain
from investing my time, but any worthwhile achievement will
take time and effort to accomplish. My tendency has always
been to start a project with alacrity and hope, but shortly
after starting my new project I would give up because I
didn't see any quick results. What does this have to do
with weight training?

In previous articles I mentioned the importance of
following the fundamentals for weight gain and strength
training instead of looking for a wonder supplement. I
wanted to emphasize that achieving huge muscle gains is
about following the proper diet (increasing calories and
protein) and gradually lifting heavier weights.
Supplements are not the foundation of muscle building, and
they will not determine your success or failure. You may
be wondering, then, why so many choose to follow the latest
supplement fad.

Why do bodybuilding supplements sell so well? They do well
simply because so many bodybuilders are looking for the
magic pill that will instantly deliver incredible results.
Unfortunately, so many people in our society have become
accustomed to looking for shortcuts and short term
gratification. It's particularly sad when you consider
that learning how to gain weight naturally is not as
difficult as it may seem. The real magic pill is combining
the right knowledge (weight gain diet plus proper workout
routines) with determination. The beginner must understand
that weight gain, like most worthwhile goals, requires
diligence over the long term.

This brings us back to a critical concept of bodybuilding
which tells us that supplements should not be the basis for
a muscle building program. A few supplements can be useful
for the advanced trainer who is trying to maximize his
gains and has already developed a solid weightlifting and
diet program. Most supplements, however, are either
useless or are simply not necessary. The essential
components of any bodybuilding program will always be
progressive resistance training and increasing one's daily
calories. Looking for shortcuts when you have not even
mastered the basics will simply lead to disappointment and
a lot of wasted money.

It may be more exciting to look for that special supplement
that will magically deliver the results you are looking
for, but in the long run a trainee looking for shortcuts
will surely be disappointed. This lesson applies not only
to bodybuilding and strength training; rather, it is a
valuable lesson that can help you reach any goal you set.
If you've done the research and gained the necessary
knowledge, and if you set your goal properly (more on this
later), then you can be certain that you're on your way to
accomplishing your objective. Do not be discouraged if
your initial results are disappointing - focus on the
cumulative effects of your daily actions and what this will
bring you in the months to come.

The History of The Spa

The History of The Spa
For the western world the earliest proponent of the spa for
therapeutic purposes was Hippocrates (460-370 BC). Before
that time bathing was used mainly for cleansing and
hygienic reasons. However Hippocrates put forth the idea
that the cause of all diseases centered around an imbalance
of bodily fluids. Considered the "Father of Medicine,"
suggested perspiration, walking, massage and bathing
important to maintain balance in ones physical body.
Consequently, baths were often combined with sports and
education. If he were alive today the doctors of the world
would be hogging all his time but in fact he more likely
would be at home as a fitness guru selling health club
memberships.

It was this influence of the Greeks that caused the Romans
to build thermal baths at mineral and natural hot springs.
These spas were used for the recuperation of injured
soldiers as well as recreation centers. Differing from
their Greek predecessors the Romans felt that the baths
themselves were more important than the gymnasiums. Whereas
the Greeks liked to partake of the spa after a vigorous
workout, the Romans focused on the relaxation, socializing
and medical treatments. I like to think that the reason the
Romans lasted as long as they did was because of they
placed such importance on the spa.

More than just coming clean, the Romans made the spa
experience a part of their society for medical treatment,
worship and social gathering. Asclepiades, a Greek
physician who worked in Rome, prescribed hydrotherapy for
both therapeutic and preventative purposes. There were
others that attributed healing and health to taking the
waters such as Pliny the Elder (23-79 AD) and Galen
(131-201 AD). Galen preferred cold water in his treatment
of diseases so as Americans we would consider his therapy
sessions, "fun impaired."

From Rome we have three separate types of bath. Baths at
home (balnea), Private Baths (balnea privata), and state
funded public baths (balnea publica). The aqueducts
provided enough water so that every person in Rome could
use 1400 liters per day. At the height of the Roman bathing
culture these public bathing facilities grew into huge
complexes with the capacity for thousands of people.

This focus of the bath was such an important part of the
Roman society that everywhere the legions went they built
their own in every land they conquered. We can find
examples all over Europe as a testament to value they gave
water therapy.

Eventually the Romans became more focused on the bath for
relaxation and pleasure. Not that pleasure is a bad thing
but if you don't get out of the spa once and a while to
take care of business we know from history that it could
lead to the collapse of your empire.

Nutrition Key for Anti Aging

Nutrition Key for Anti Aging
I would guess that growing old does not worry most
Americans. However, the loss of strength and balance that
can go together with the aging process can be frightening.

Live Lean Today can help with its anti aging fitness plans.
Is there a way to prevent the frailty that is often
associated with an older age? The solution may include
protein, selected vitamins and dietary supplements.

Frailty is characterized as low overall muscle strength, a
regular feeling of exhaustion with minimal activities, slow
walking speed, and an overall reduction in activities of
daily living. Although the number of elderly who could be
defined as frail is un-known, frailty may increase the risk
of falling as well as susceptibility to disease. In
addition, frailty also negatively affects quality of life.

A recent study published in the Journal of Gerontology:
Biological Sciences and Medical Sciences demonstrated that
the lack of specific nutrients increases the risk of
becoming frail. In this study, 802 participants were
assessed for nutrient intake and frailty. The study showed
that the risk of frailty was correlated with a diminished
intake of protein and vitamins A, D, C and the B vitamin
folate.

If a person was deficient in two or more nutrients, the
risk of frailty more than doubled. In addition, as we age,
our ability to absorb nutrients from the food we eat
decreases. The quality and quantity of food eaten also may
be influenced by a fixed income. This suggests that
nutrient insuffi-ciency may be more common in the elderly
that we believe.

Fortunately, frailty may be easily prevented and even
reversed. Meat is an excellent source of protein but, for
those on a very fixed income, may not be part of the daily
diet. However, beans and nuts can also supply a significant
amount of excellent protein at a very reasonable cost. They
also are rich in folate. Fruits and vegetables are good
source of vitamins A, C and D. Dietary supplements may also
be valuable and can provide more than adequate levels of
folate and vitamins A, D and C in a number of easily
digestible forms.

When I was in medical school, we learned that all
nutritional needs could be met by having three "square"
meals a day. We now know that nutrition and health involves
a much more complex set of interactions and that proper
amounts of protein and specific nutrients, like vitamins A,
D, C and folate are essential. Frailty may be avoidable
and, with a little effort, we all may be able to enjoy the
"golden years" a little more.

The Keys To Good Health

The Keys To Good Health
Water and anti-oxidants could be called the keys to good
health. Your skin texture is the best indicator of your
body's health and water-content. If your skin's texture is
dry, cracked and has many fine lines, it is obvious that
your water intake is not sufficient. Common symptoms of
dehydration are: thirst, loss of skin elasticity, dryness,
decreased urine production, irritability, restlessness and
fatigue. Fatigue can actually lead to nervous disorders,
weight gain and over time, having negative effects on your
over all general health.

Water affects and is needed for all functions of the body -
this includes the skin and internal organs. Water is vital
to the look, texture, function and health of all organs but
we can see the need on the skin. Without water, nothing
would be energized. Our DNA would be damaged, our immune
system would not work properly, toxins would build up in
our body, and all of our cells would dry up, leaving us
dehydrated. It is essential that our body receive an
adequate amount of water each day. Water is an important
part of the hydro-lipidic layer on top of the skin that
acts like a barrier against internal water loss. It also
protects the skin from elements that try to harm our body
daily, like bacteria, pollutants, and UV radiation.

The visible signs on the skin help us know we are over due
in water needs. Our skin will become dry, irritated,
sensitive, blotchy, tight, cracked and dull if we do not
drink enough water. So keeping the water content of the
skin cells high will keep the cells lubricated and
hydrated. This is needed for the skin cells an cells in all
organs to be plump, nourished, and to the skin,
young-looking. Water also helps maintain a clear
complexion. Indigestion, constipation, or any other type of
metabolic problem causes blemishes on the skin, also acne
breakouts, lines, irritation, eczema and other skin
problems. When we drink enough water, the skin acts like
our third kidney, filtering out impurities, removing them
from the body leaving our skin clear and healthy. Moisture
is also needed for the skin to keep collagen and elastin
fibers supple. Without water, these fibers become stiff and
hard, making skin loses its flexibility and pliability.
This allows other aging symptoms to appear as well. Skin
may also appear tight, puffy and blotchy, with an almost
balloon look. This is not because of too much water, as
many people think, it is the skin activating its own
survival mechanism, holding onto whatever water is left in
the tissue - resulting in water retention.

It is evident that the best way to have normal, functioning
cells is to drink an adequate amount of water. We can get
water into our system in two ways: first drink pure, clean,
natural water. Tap water needs to be filtered to remove the
chlorine. Second eat fresh fruits and vegetables. The
foods with high water-content are also high in beneficial
nutrients and antioxidants: romaine lettuce, tomatoes,
watercress, zucchini, asparagus, broccoli, cantaloupes,
carrots, grapefruit, oranges and their juice, peaches,
spinach, watermelon, apples, blueberries, yogurt, tofu,
kiwis, avocados, plums, soy milk, cooked whole grains,
beans and soups.

How much water should you consume each day? Our bodies lose
up to three quarts of water a day because of digestion,
assimilation and elimination. The body does not store
excess water, so drinking six to eight glasses of water per
day will replenish what is lost. This amount may vary based
on your weight, health condition, activity level, etc. An
easy way to calculate your personal daily need is to drink
half of your body's weight in fluid ounces. For example, if
you weigh 150 pounds, you need about 75 ounces of water a
day, that is up to nine, eight ounce glasses a day. Keep in
mind, beverages containing caffeine have an adverse affect
on the body. Caffeine will cause you to lose more water
through urine. Caffeinated beverages do include water, but
they also include other ingredients that negate water's
cleansing effect and may cause other health issues in
addition to dehydration.

Next to water in importance to your health and appearance,
be sure to add foods to your diet that are packed with
antioxidants to help keep you healthier and feeling
younger. We've all heard broccoli, tomatoes, and green tea
are "super foods" to be included in our diet, but what
about apples, artichokes, nuts, and a slew of other
antioxidant-rich foods? They help stabilize free radicals
(molecular compounds linked with diseases such as cancer),
I recommend eating foods high in antioxidants everyday.

Antioxidant-packed foods to keep in mind while you shop:
Apples: Red Delicious in particular. Berries: Especially
blueberries, but also cranberries, blackberries,
raspberries, and strawberries. Artichokes: Hearts or the
petals, artichokes have the most antioxidants of all
vegetables. Oregano: Make it easy to reach in the kitchen,
so you'll use it for soups, pizzas, etc. Nuts: Pecans! Use
them in baking your favorite holiday recipes this season.
Beans: Small red beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, and
black beans. Plums and Prunes: They make good snacks!
Cherries: Fresh or frozen, sweet or sour, not maraschino.
Nature has provided what we need to stay healthy and
looking great. Choose natural foods and beverages.

Vaccination - Safe or Dangerous?

Vaccination - Safe or Dangerous?
It is widely thought in the medical profession that
infections and many diseases are mainly / partly caused by
viruses or bacteria.

In a healthy body, these bacteria are identified by our
immune system that will proceed to manufacture antibodies
to render them harmless. Should our immune system be
deficient in any way because of bad eating habits, negative
emotions / stress or a toxic environment, then these
bacteria will either not be picked up by our immune cells
or an insufficient amount of antibodies will be generated
and disease will develop.

Should the immune system be strong, then we will generate a
sufficient amount of antibodies and after suffering some
symptoms, we should regain health.

For example, fever and red blotches could indicate that we
have contacted measles. Once our body has identified the
disease and generated a sufficient amount of antibodies, we
recover.

Furthermore, our body will keep a copy of the virus and
should it be exposed to the same virus again, it will
quickly respond by manufacturing the required antibodies
and the disease will not get a chance to manifest. Clever
isn't it?

This is called acquired immunity

Artificial immunity

A vaccine is a preparation of viral or bacterial particles
that will mimic the viruses or bacteria responsible for a
disease. It is chemically prepared in a much reduced
potency in order to (supposedly) be safe to inject in the
body. The theory is that once present in the body, the
vaccine will provide artificial immunity and not have the
harmful effect of the disease itself. Good in theory
wouldn't you agree?

According to pharmaceutical companies vaccination is:

* The main reason for the decline of infectious conditions

* The only effective method of eliminating dangerous
infectious conditions

* Harmless when compared to the disease itself

Two snags though:

If the preparation is not diluted enough (or sufficiently
modified), it may generate the disease it is supposed to
prevent in a potentially more virulent form.

If the preparation is too diluted or altered too much, then
the disease may not be recognised and the vaccination
process will have been a complete (and potentially
dangerous) waste of time.

The germ theory accepted by the medical profession is that
of Louis Pasteur. Whereby a disease is introduced into a
body externally.

Antoine Deschamp who inspired Louis Pasteur into this
theory however demonstrated that viruses and bacteria were
already present in normal cells although the body was not
suffering from any disease.

This has been picked up by many Alternative thinkers who
believe, as I do, that the body must first get itself into
a weak state (immune deficient) for any disease to be able
to develop.

Let me give you an example:

Imagine you are in a lift with 10 other people. One of them
has a very bad dose of flu and is sneezing happily. The flu
virus will spread around the enclosed lift. Will all 10
people catch the flu?

Of course not. Maybe 2 or 3 will catch it because their
immune system is low. Possibly another couple may have
minor symptoms and the rest will have no symptoms
whatsoever.

What is the difference between them? Is it because some
have been immunised and others not? Of course not. The
difference is the strength of their immune system.

Have vaccinations helped curb disease?

Governments, pushed by pharmaceutical companies, are keen
to publish statistics that show how effective vaccination
has been. For example, they proudly show the eradication of
tuberculosis (now coming back strongly), smallpox, typhus
and typhoid between 1950 and the late 1960s. Death from
these in 1950 were 1,000 per million of population. What
they forget to show us in what was happening BEFORE the
introduction of vaccination.

Between the years 1860 and 1950 cases of the above disease
had dropped from 6,000 per million of population to just
under 1,000 per million and were well on their way out. A
drop of nearly 85% achieved without any vaccination. This
was due to the progress made in sanitation, hygiene etc..
(statistics from a report presented at the "Presidential
address of the British Association for the advancement of
sciences" By Porter in 1971).

Does vaccination work?

To this day, a vaccine is considered successful if the body
generates antibodies as a result of the vaccination.

But is it effective?

The Salk Polio vaccine was introduced in 1955. Despite
this, the American government claimed that the 61% decrease
in polio cases in 1954 was due to the vaccine!!! (ref: Dr
Bernard Greenberg, Head of the Department of Biostatistics
of the University of North Carolina). Dr Greenberg also
stated that there was an increase of 50% in 1957-8 and 80%
in 1958-9 AFTER the introduction of the mass immunisation
program. Not too impressive would you say.

The very controversial triple vaccine against Measles,
Mumps and Rubella (MMR)has been available since 1975. The
What Doctors Don't Tell You publication however states that
between 1983 and 1990, there has been a 423% increase in
the number of Measles cases. Furthermore, the American
government reported that 80% of the new cases of Measles
had been from vaccinated people! (statistics from the
Centre for Disease Control Morbidity and Mortality Weekly
Report from 6 June 1986). On 26 March 1987, the New England
Journal of Medicine reported that in 1986 in Corpus Chisti,
Texas, there was an epidemic of Measles and that 99% of the
children affected had been vaccinated against Measles!!! Do
we call this effective or what?

Children who have been vaccinated with MMR can still
develop the disease, but in a much stronger form that can
include liver abnormalities, pneumonia and arthritis (W
James quoted in "Mass Immunisation" by Trevor Gunn).

Can a vaccine cause harm?

A vaccine is injected directly into the bloodstream. Our
natural system of defence such as the skin and liver are
bypassed by this process. Paralysis, brain damage and
Autism have been linked to vaccinations. Doctors who inject
vaccines are aware that on occasion, a person will collapse
and may die or develop serious respiratory problems. They
are train to cope with this eventuality.

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) was shown by Dr William
Torch of the Nevada school of medicine to be directly
related to the vaccination of children when two third of
the children who died from SIDS had been injected with
D.T.P. (Diphteria, Pertussin and Tetanus).

A.I.D.S. (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome), is
interestingly more prominent in the seven African states
that have been most vaccinated for smallpox! Is this a
coincidence?

In the UK, doctors are given bonuses when they achieve the
highest percentage of vaccinations. This financial
incentive ensures that vaccination is not going to be
challenged by many.
